Help on Engineering Change Order
In this page, you can retrieve specific engineering change document of your preference based on search criteria. You can carry out a search based on attributes including Eng. Change Order #, Eng. Change Order Subject, Regulatory Authority, Effec. Date, Status, User Status, Priority, Source Doc. Type, Source Doc. #, Doc. Category, Doc. Date and Created By. The search retrieves change orders that match specified search criteria. On selection of the retrieved document, the order # / entire record is copied to the page from which you have invoked the Help page.
ØClick the lens icon positioned next to the “Eng. Change Order #” field in the main screen.
The “Help on Engineering Change Order” page appears.
ØEnter the following filter criteria in the “Search Criteria” group box to search for the required change order.. Data entry in the following fields is optional:
Eng. Change Order # |
The engineering change order number for which for which you want to retrieve details. You can enter the number in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all change orders with numbers are similar to the value entered here. |
Eng. Change Order Subject |
The subject of the engineering change orders that you wish to retrieve and access. The search retrieves the change orders with the subject that is similar to the value entered here. |
Regulatory Authority |
Use the drop-down list box to select the regulatory authority associated with the engineering change order that you wish to retrieve. The drop-down list box displays the Active and valid regulatory authorities defined in the Common Master. |
Effec. From Date (Range) |
The start and end dates of the period in which the engineering change order becomes effective for adherence. |
Status |
Use the drop-down list box to select the status of the engineering change order that you wish to retrieve. The drop-down list box displays the following: § Fresh § Confirmed § Returned § Approved § Closed § Short Closed § Cancelled The search retrieves the changes orders in the status that you have selected here. |
User Status |
Use the drop-down list box to select the user status of the engineering change order that you wish to retrieve. The drop-down list box displays the Active quick codes defined under the quick code type ‘Eng. User - Status’ in the Create Quick Codes activity of Engineering Document. |
Priority |
Use the drop-down list box to select the priority of the document that you wish to retrieve. The drop-down list box displays Active and valid priority codes defined in the Manage Priority Codes under Logistics Common Master business component. The search retrieves the documents with the priority that you have selected here. |
Source Doc. Type |
Use the drop-down list box to select the type of the source document that you wish to retrieve. The drop-down list box displays External and Internal. The search retrieves the documents of the type that you have selected here. |
Source Doc. # |
The identification number of the source document that you wish to retrieve. The search retrieves the documents with the number similar to that you have entered here. |
Doc. Category |
Use the drop-down list box to select the user-defined category of the engineering change order that you wish to retrieve. The drop-down list box displays Active and valid quick codes defined under the quick code type Eng. Change Order – Doc. Category in the Create Quick Codes activity of the Engineering Document component. |
Doc. Date |
The date stamp of the document that you wish to retrieve. The search retrieves the documents with the date that you have specified here. |
Created By |
The login user who created the document that you wish to retrieve. You can enter the user name in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The search retrieves all the change orders created by login users similar to the value entered here. |
ØClick the “Search” pushbutton, to display the change orders that match search criteria.
The system displays the following in the “Search Results” multiline:

The identification number of the engineering document. |
Eng. Change Order Subject |
The subject matter of the engineering document. |
Regulatory Authority |
The regulatory authority associated with engineering change order. |
Effec. From Date |
The date by which the engineering change order must be implemented. |
Status |
The status of the engineering change order, such as Fresh, |
User Status |
The user-defined status of the engineering change order. |
Priority |
The priority for the implementation of the engineering change order. |
Source Doc. Type |
The type of the source document, such as Internal or External. |
Source Doc. # |
The identification number of the source document. |
Doc. Category |
The user-defined document category of the engineering change order. |
Doc. Date |
The date stamp of the engineering change order. |
Created by |
The login user who created the engineering change order. |
