This tab allows you to view the deferral details of the discrepancy.

The system displays the following in the “Deferral Details” group box:

Deferral Type

The deferral type of the discrepancy, which can be “MEL” or “CDL”.

Reason for Deferral

The reason for deferring the discrepancy earlier.

Deferral Limit Type

The deferral limit type of the discrepancy, which can be one of the following:

  • “Calendar Based” – indicates that the maintenance report will be deferred based on the time specified.

  • “Usage Based” – indicates that the maintenance report will be deferred till the value specified for the usage parameter is reached.

  • “Calendar & Usage Based” – indicates that the maintenance report will be deferred till the specified time as well as the specified parameter value is reached.

Deferral Limit Basis

The deferral limit basis of the discrepancy, which can be one of the following:

  • “Whichever is earlier” – indicates that the discrepancy  will be deferred based on the time specified or usage specified, which terminates earlier.

  • “Whichever is later” – indicates that the discrepancy will be deferred based on the time specified or usage specified, which terminates later.

Deferral Item #

The deferral item number against which the discrepancy was reported.

Limit Control

The limit control of the discrepancy, which can be one of the following:

  • “Hard” – Indicates that the discrepancy has to be resolved with the specified time.

  • “Suggested” – Indicates that the discrepancy can be further deferred.

Deferral Item Description

The textual description of the deferral item against which the discrepancy was reported.

Deferral Item Category

The category to which the deferral item belongs.

Hold Item #

The tracking number of the deferral against which the discrepancy is reported.

Maintenance Event

The maintenance event of the discrepancy.

Deferral Authorization #

The authorization number given for the deferral.

Deferral Comments

Any additional comments about the deferral, if any.

The system displays the following in the “Calendar Based Deferral Limits” group box:

Deferral Duration Limit

The maximum number of hours, days or months for which the discrepancy can be deferred. Note that the deferral duration limit is defined for deferral type, deferral item # and deferral category of an aircraft model.

Deferral Duration

The duration for which the discrepancy was already deferred.

Threshold Date

The date until  which the discrepancy can be deferred.

The system displays the following fields in the “Usage Based Deferral Limits” multiline:

Parameter

The parameters defined for the aircraft in the “Aircraft” business component.

Parameter Type

The type of the parameter, which could be “Attribute”, “Technical”, “Range” or “Consumption”.

UOM

The unit of measurement defined for the parameter.

Reference Value

The reference flight hours of the aircraft.

Deferral Limit

The maximum limit beyond the reference value till which the discrepancy can be deferred.

Deferral Value

The value until which the discrepancy has been currently deferred.

Threshold Value

The value beyond the reference value till which the discrepancy has been deferred.

Parameter Description

The textual description of the parameter.
