Help on configuration information
This page allows you to retrieve the model or aircraft configuration details. And you can select the twin or dependent position code and part. You can carry out the search based on the part number, the parent part number, ATA chapter to which the position code is associated, position code or the level code. Details such as the position code, part number fitted to the position code, position code status and its type are displayed. The level at which the part number and the position code occur in the aircraft configuration hierarchy is also displayed in the multiline. Refer Figure 1 for more details. The ATA chapter, zone, position formula to which the position code is associated is also displayed.
Click the lens icon positioned next to the “Part #” field in the main screen.
The “Help on Configuration Information” page appears.
The system displays the following fields in the “Parent Details” group box:
Aircraft Model # |
The number identifying the aircraft model. |
Aircraft Reg # |
The aircraft registration number for which the configuration details are displayed. |
Configuration Class |
The configuration class associated to the model or aircraft registration number. |
Revision # |
The revision number of the model or aircraft configuration. |
Component # |
The number identifying the component. |
Part # |
The part number that can be fitted in the position code. |
Config. Status |
The status of the model or aircraft configuration, which could be one of the following: |

Note: The system retrieves aircraft configuration details if the aircraft model and aircraft registration number alone is displayed otherwise the system retrieves the model configuration details.
Enter the following fields in the “Display Filter” group box to search for position code details. Data entry in the following fields is optional:
Part # |
The part number for which the position code details are to be retrieved (Alphanumeric, 40). You can enter the number in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all the position codes to which this part is associated. |
NHA |
The parent part number of the position code and the associated part, which is otherwise called the next higher assembly (Alphanumeric, 40). You can enter the number in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all the position codes belonging to the NHA, as defined in the part configuration hierarchy. For more details on defining part configuration hierarchy, refer the topic “Updating part configuration information – An overview”. |
ATA # |
The ATA chapter for which the position code details are to be retrieved (Alphanumeric, 16). You can enter the number in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all the position codes that are associated to the ATA chapter. |
Position Code |
The position code for which the details are to be retrieved (Alphanumeric, 25). You can enter the number in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all the position codes, which are similar to the values entered here. |
Display Level |
Use the drop-down list box to select the level code of the part number and position code combination, for which the configuration details are to be retrieved. The system lists all the levels of the aircraft configuration in the drop-down list box. All the position codes defined at the level selected in this field are retrieved in the multiline, along with the child position codes. Leave this field blank to retrieve all possible level codes for the specified part number and position code combination. |
Display Options |
Use the drop-down list box to select the display option. The system lists the following options:
The system displays “Associated Parts Only” by default. |
Click the “Search” pushbutton to display the search results.
The system displays the following fields in the “Aircraft Configuration Details” multiline:
Level # |
The level number of the part number and the position code in the aircraft configuration hierarchy. |
Position Code |
The position code associated to the aircraft configuration. |
Position Code Type |
The type of the component to be placed in the position code, which could be “Engine ”, “APU”, “Landing Gear” or “Others”. |
Position Code Status |
The status of the position code, which could be “Active” or “Inactive”. |
Part # |
The part number that can be fitted in the position code. |
Part Description |
The textual description of the part. |
ATA # |
The ATA chapter associated to the position code. |
Zone # |
The zone associated to the position code. |
Position Formula # |
The formula associated to the position code. |
Check the box in the “Select” column of the multiline to select the configuration details.
Click the “OK” pushbutton.
