Selecting component for updating configuration

This page allows you to select the component for which the configuration details must be updated. Tell me more

Select the “Build Component Configuration” link under the “Configuration” business component.

The “Aircraft Component Selection” page appears.

Enter the following field, if you know the component ID for which the configuration details must be entered:

Component #

The component for which the configuration details must be defined (Alphanumeric, 90). Ensure that the component has already been defined in the “Create Component ID Information” activity under the “Aircraft” business component and is in “Active” status.

Select the “Build Component Configuration” link displayed alongside to update the configuration details for the component.
Enter the following filter criteria in the “Search Criteria” group box to search for a component. Data entry in the following fields is optional:

Component #	The component for which the configuration details must be defined (Alphanumeric, 90). You can enter the component ID in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all the component IDs that are similar to the value entered here.
Manufacturer	The manufacturer of the Component (Alphanumeric, 45). You can enter the name of the component manufacturer in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system lists all the components for which the Component manufacturer names are similar to the value entered here.
Part #	The part number to which the component belongs (Alphanumeric, 40). You can enter the part number in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all the components whose part numbers are similar to the value entered here.
Base Part #	The base part number of the part to which the component belongs (Alphanumeric, 40). You can enter the base part number in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all the components whose base part numbers are similar to the value entered here.
ATA #	The ATA chapter to which the component is associated (Alphanumeric, 16). You can enter the ATA chapter number in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system lists all the components whose ATA chapter numbers are similar to the value entered here.
NHA Part #	The number identifying the parent part, which is otherwise called the next higher assembly (Alphanumeric, 40).

Note: The system lists all the components in the multiline, if all the search criteria fields are left blank.

Click the “Search” pushbutton to display the search results.

The system fills in the following fields in the “Search Results” multiline, based on the filter criteria entered:

Component #	The number identifying the component.
Part #	The part to which the component belongs.
Part Description	The textual description of the part to which the component belongs.
Serial #	The serial number of the component.
Base Part #	The base part number of the part to which the component belongs.
NHA Part #	The number identifying the parent part, which is otherwise called the next higher assembly
ATA #	The ATA chapter to which the component belongs.
Manufacturer	The manufacturer of the component.
Config. Status	The status of the component configuration which could be “Fresh” or “Active”.
Revision #	The number identifying the revision of the component configuration with respect to the component configuration status.
Assembly Status	Indicates whether components are associated to all the active position codes in the component configuration. The system displays the following options:
	Complete – Indicates that all the active position codes with “Component Mandatory” set as “Yes”, have components attached to them.
	Dormant - Indicates that only some active position codes with “Component Mandatory” set as “Yes”, have components attached to them.

Check the box in the “Select” column of the multiline to select the component for which the configuration details must be defined.
Click the hyperlinked component ID in the multiline, to modify the component configuration details.

Selecting component for updating configuration – An overview

This page allows you to select the component for which the configuration details must be updated. If you know the component ID for which you wish to update the configuration details, you can enter it directly. Otherwise, you can carry out a search based on the component ID, manufacturer of the aircraft, part number, base part number, ATA chapter number and NHA number. The details of the selected component, such as the component ID, part number, part description, serial number, base part, ATA chapter number and the manufacturer of the aircraft are displayed. If the configuration details have already been defined for the component, the revision number and the configuration status will also be displayed.
