Edit position attributes for aircraft configuration
This page allows you to select a position code for which the configuration rules must be defined. Tell me more
Select the “Edit Position Attributes” link at the bottom of the “Build Aircraft Configuration” page.
The “Edit Position Attributes” page appears.
The system displays the following fields in the “Aircraft Details” group box:
Aircraft Reg # |
The aircraft registration number selected in the main page. |
Config. Status |
The status of the aircraft configuration which could be “Fresh” or “Active”. |
Aircraft Model # |
The model to which the aircraft is associated. |
Configuration Class |
The configuration class to which the aircraft model is associated. |
Revision # |
The revision number of the aircraft configuration. |
The system displays the aircraft configuration details in the form of a tree structure. The details such as "Position Code", "Part #", "Part Description", "Part Serial #" and "Component ID" are displayed.
Note: On selection of a node in the tree structure, the system automatically retrieves the corresponding aircraft position details in the “Display Filter” group box and the “Configuration Details” multiline.
Enter the following fields in the “Display Filter” group box:
Position Code |
The position code for which the configuration rules must be defined (Alphanumeric, 25). You can enter the number in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all the position codes, which are similar to the values entered here. |
Part # |
The part number for which the position code details are to be retrieved (Alphanumeric, 40). You can enter the number in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all the position codes to which this part is associated. |
NHA |
The parent part number of the position code and the associated part, which is otherwise called the next higher assembly (Alphanumeric, 40). You can enter the number in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all the position codes belonging to the NHA, as defined in the part configuration hierarchy. |
ATA # |
The ATA chapter for which the position code details are to be retrieved (Alphanumeric, 16). You can enter the number in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all the position codes that are associated to the ATA chapter. |
Display Level |
Use the drop-down list box to select the level for which the position code details are to be retrieved. The system retrieves all the position codes defined at this level. |
Level Code |
The level code corresponding to the position code (Alphanumeric, 150). You can enter the level code in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all the position codes that are applicable to the level code entered here. |
Click the “Get Details” pushbutton to display the search results.
Note: The system retrieves the details of the position codes and the parts associated to each of these position codes and all other details associated to it.
If the “Level Code” alone is entered, the system retrieves the details of the corresponding position code from the tree structure along with the part details in the “Configuration Details” multiline.
The system fills in the following fields in the “Configuration Details” multiline, based on the filter criteria entered:
Link Info |
Indicates whether the interchangeability rules, intermixing rules and ETOP twin position rules have been entered for the position. The system displays one of the following options:
If more than one of the above details are entered, then the system concatenates the respective values. |
Level Code |
The level number of the position code and its associated part number. |
Position Code |
The position code retrieved by the system. |
Attachment Status |
Indicates the attachment status of the position code. The system displays one of the following:
The system displays “None” if no component is attached to the position code. This is applicable only during initial configuration of the aircraft. |
Part # |
The number identifying the part associated to the position code. |
Part Description |
The textual description of the part. |
NHA |
The number identifying the parent part. |
Component # |
The component ID of the part as defined in the “Aircraft Readiness Log” page. |
Serial # |
The serial number of the part. |
Enter the following fields in the multiline:
Cargo |
Use the drop-down list box and set the field to “Yes” to indicate that the position code is in the cargo aircraft. The system provides the options “Yes” and “No”. |
RVSM |
Use the drop-down list box and set the field to “Yes” to indicate that the position code is in the aircraft, which fly in the reduced vertical separation minimum limit. The system provides the options “Yes” and “No”. |
Zone # |
The zone associated to the position code (Alphanumeric, 10). The zone number should have already been defined in the “Create Zone” activity of the “Aircraft” business component and should be in “Active” status. Help facility available. |
Position Formula # |
The formula associated to the position code (Alphanumeric, 15). The position formula number should have been defined in the “Formula Builder” business component and should be in “Active” status. Help facility available. |
ATA # |
The ATA chapter associated to the position code (Alphanumeric, 18). |
Check the box in the “Select” column of the multiline to mark the position code for rule modification.
Click the “Edit Position Attributes” pushbutton to update the position details.
To proceed, carry out the following
Select the “Edit ETOP Twin positions” link at the bottom of the page to define the ETOP twin position codes for the selected position code.
Select the “Edit Part Interchangeability Rules” link at the bottom of the page to define the interchangeability rule for the selected position code.
Select the “Edit Part Intermixing Rules” link at the bottom of the page to define the intermixing rule for the selected position code.
Select the “Edit Permitted Serial # List” link at the bottom of the page to define the permitted serial number details for the selected position code.
Edit position attributes for aircraft configuration – An overview
This page allows you to select a position code for which the configuration rules must be defined. Configuration rules govern the interchanging and intermixing of parts and the list of ETOP twin position codes. These configuration rules can be defined in the “Edit Part Intermixing Rules”, “Edit Part Interchangeability Rules” and the “Edit ETOP Twin Positions ” pages for the position code selected in this page.
You can carry out a search based on the position code, part number, the parent part number, ATA chapter to which the position code is associated, or the level code. Details such as the level code, position code, the part fitted in the position code, part description, parent part number, component ID and serial number are displayed.
