Associating components to CWO
This page enables you to associate components to a component work order. You can enter the component number, part number and serial number for the component. You can update the condition of the component, enter the updated date and time details. Any remark pertaining to the component association and condition update can also be entered.
Select the “Associate Components to Work Order” link in the “Edit Component Work Order” page.
The “Associate Components To Work Order” page appears.
The system displays the following field:
Date & Time Format |
The date and time format in which the date and time fields are displayed. This format is displayed from the "User Preferences" business component based on the login user ID. In case the format is not defined, the system displays the date and time format from the "Enterprise Modeling" business component by default. |
The system displays the following details in the “CWO Details” group box:
Component Work Order # |
The component work order to which you wish to associate components |
CWO Description |
The textual description of the component work order. Zoom facility available |
Part # |
The part number to which the component belongs. |
Part Description |
The textual description of the part Zoom facility available |
Serial # |
The serial number of the component against which the component work order is raised. |
Component # |
The number identifying the component on which the component work order is raised |
CWO Status |
The status of the component work order which could be “Fresh”, “Scheduled” or “In-Progress”. The CWO should not be in “Hold” or “Returned” transient status. |

Enter the following fields in the “Associated Components” multiline:
Component # |
The number identifying the component that you wish to associate to the component work order (Alphanumeric, 40). Ensure that the component number is already defined in the system. Help facility available |
Part # |
The part number to which the component belongs (Alphanumeric, 40). This part number should be of part type “Component” and should be in “Active” status. Help facility available |
Part Serial # |
The serial number of the part (Alphanumeric, 40). This serial number must be already defined for the part number. Help facility available |
The system displays the following field:
Component Condition |
The condition of the component which could be “New”, “Overhauled”, “Serviceable” or “Unserviceable”. |
Enter the following fields:
Update Condition To |
Use the drop-down list box to specify the condition to be updated. The system lists the options “Unserviceable” and “Serviceable”. You can select values in this field only when the component is not attached to any aircraft. |
Maintenance Type |
Use the drop-down list box to select the maintenance type of the component. The system lists the options “Inspection”, “Repair”, “Overhaul” and “Others”. |
Main Core Issue |
Use the drop-down list box and set the field as “Required”, to specify that the component must be issued from stores. The system displays the options “Required” and “Not Required”. By default, the system sets this field to “Required”. If another work order in the “Fresh”, “Scheduled”, “In-progress” or “Completed” status contains an estimate for the same component number or its higher assembly, then the system defaults this field to “Not Required”. |

Object Type |
The object type of the component. This field displays the following information if the “Main Core Issue” field is set to “Required”:

Core Modification |
Indicates the change identified in the Engineering order. If any Part number change is identified in the EO, this field displays “Part # modified”. If any serial number change is identified in the EO, this field displays Serial # change. If part number and serial number change is identified in the EO, this field displays “Part and serial change”. If neither part nor serial change is identified in the EO, this field displays “No Modification”. |

Click the “Associate Components” pushbutton to associate the components to the component work order.
The system performs the following:
Ensures that the owning agency number of the newly added component (if any) is same as the owning agency number of the component on which the work order is being created.
Ensures that the newly added component in the multiline has “Capital” expense type, if the component work order in the header is of expense type “Capital”.
