Processing Reliability Data for Part #
In this page, you can process the reliability data for the part number by calculating the alert value. Tell me more.
Select the “Process Reliability Data for Part #” link at the bottom of the “Process Reliability Data for Fleet #” page or “Process Reliability Data for ATA#”. .
The “Process Reliability Data for Part #” page appears.
The system displays the following:
Date Format |
The format in which the date fields must be entered. This format is displayed from the "User Preferences" business component based on the login user ID. In case the format is not defined, the system displays the date format from the “Enterprise Modeling” business component by default. |
The system displays the following field in the “Fleet Details”:
Fleet # |
A unique number assigned to the fleet. |
Reliability Calendar Code |
The number identifying the reliability calendar. |
Cal Valid From Month – Year |
The year and month from which the reliability calendar starts. |
Cal Valid To Month – Year |
The year and month in which the reliability calendar ends. |
Period # |
The number identifying the period. |
Enter the following in the “Fleet Details” group box:
ATA # |
Use the drop-down list box to select the number identifying the ATA chapter to which the component belongs. The system lists all the ATA chapter numbers created in the "Create ATA Chapter" activity of the "Aircraft" business component. The system retrieves all component warranty reference documents with the ATA chapter number selected here. |
Click the “Get Details” pushbutton to retrieve the details.
The system displays the following the in the “Part Details” multiline:
Part # |
A unique number identifying the part. |
Part Description |
The textual description of the part. |
Last Calculated Date |
The date on which the reliability alert was last calculated for the part. |
Check the “Calculate Alert Value” pushbutton to calculate the reliability alert value for part.
The system calculates the Monthly Alert vValue, Reliability Alert Value, MTBF, MTBUR, and MTBR for the part number, ATA chapter and the fleet calendar, from the details in the “Reliability Setup” repository.
Monthly Reliability Alert Value or PPR is calculated as,
Number of removals reported for the respective period * 100 / Unit per aircraft * Period Flying Hours
If the selected period is the last period defined for the calendar fleet: then
Reliability Alert Value is calculated as,
D + Multiple for the service as selected in the set options * B
Where, D is the mean PRR for the calendar.
D = R / Number of periods
Where, R is the sum of PRR of all periods existing in the calendar.
B = Square root of A
Where, B is the standard deviation.
A = J / M
J = H - K
Where, H is the sum of the square of PRR for all respective periods.
K = Q / Number of periods
Where, Q is the square of the sum of PRR.
M = Number of periods - 1
MTBF calculation:
Total Aircraft Flying Hours * Number of units per aircraft / Number of confirmed failures for all the serial numbers with the respective part number
MTBUR calculation:
Total Aircraft Flying Hours till the selected period * Number of units per aircraft / Number of unscheduled removals for all the serial numbers with the respective part number
MTBR calculation:
Total Aircraft Flying Hours till the selected period * Number of units per aircraft / Number of removals of all the serial numbers with the respective part number
For the IFSD details, the system maintains the ATA number for the fleet calendar, and the list of aircraft registration numbers along with the IFSD details such as position code, IFSD date and time, time zone, shutdown type, inflight restart date and time, time zone for restart, from the reliability setup repository. This is done month wise for all the parts of type ‘Engine’.
