Selecting component replacement transaction for amending
You can select a component replacement transaction and alter specific details. Tell me more.
Select the “Amend Component Replacement Details” link under the “Component Replacement” business component.
The “Select Component Replacement #” page appears.
The system displays the following field:
Date Format |
The format in which the date fields are displayed in this page. This format is displayed from the "User Preferences" business component based on the login user id. In case the format is not defined, the system displays the date format from the “Enterprise Modeling” business component by default. |
Enter the following fields in the “Direct Entry” group box, if you know the component replacement transaction number for which the details are to be altered:
Component Replacement # |
The component replacement transaction to be altered. Ensure that the component replacement number is not associated to any aircraft with “Frozen” record status. Also ensure that the component replacement transaction is not in “Error-Removed” or “Error-Replaced” status. |
Select the “Amend Component Replacement Details” link displayed alongside to alter the removal details entered in the transaction.
To search for the component replacement transaction
Enter the following filter criteria in the “Search Criteria” group box to search for a component replacement transaction. Data entry in the following fields is optional:
Component Replacement # |
The component replacement for which you wish to alter the removal details. You can enter the number in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all the component replacement transaction numbers that are similar to the values entered here. |
Status |
Use the drop-down list box to select the status of the component replacement transaction, which could be “Removed” and "Replaced". The system retrieves all the component replacement transactions that are in the status specified here. Leave this field blank if you wish to retrieve details of the component replacement transactions irrespective of their status. The system leaves the field blank by default. |
Aircraft Reg # |
The aircraft registration number for which the component removal details are to be altered (Alphanumeric, 30). You can enter the number in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all the component replacement transactions for the aircraft whose registration numbers are similar to the values entered here. Alternately, you can also enter Nose # in the field. You can enter the number in full or specify it partially using the “*” character, similar to A/C Reg #. The smart search retrieves component replacements associated with the aircraft reg. # with Nose # similar to that you have entered in the field. |
Position Code |
The position code for which the component removal details must be altered (Alphanumeric, 25). You can enter the number in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all the component replacement transactions for the part whose position codes are similar to the value entered here. |
Removed Part # |
The part number for which the component removal details must be altered (Alphanumeric, 40). You can enter the number in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all the component replacement transactions for the part whose numbers are similar to the values entered here. |
Removed Sr # |
The serial number of the part for which the component removal details must be altered (Alphanumeric, 40). You can enter the number in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all the component replacement transactions generated for the serial numbers that are similar to the values entered here. |
Part Description |
The part description for which the component removal details must be altered (Alphanumeric, 150). You can enter the description in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all the component replacement transactions generated for the part whose descriptions are similar to the description entered here. |
SOS Disposition |
Use the drop-down list box to select the SOS Disposition of the part for which removal details must be altered. The drop-down list displays the following: Confirmed Failure, Suspected Failure, No Fault Found and Not Applicable. The system retrieves all component replacement transactions generated for parts whose SOS disposition is the same as that you specify. |
Note: The SOS Disposition search criterion is available only if the "SOS Program Applicability" is set to “'Not Applicable” in the Set Options activity of the Common Masters component. |

Removal From Date |
The starting date in the range of dates in which the component removal date falls (Date Format). The date entered here should be in the format displayed in the “Date Format” field. |
Removal To Date |
The ending date in the range of dates in which the component removal date falls (Date Format). The date entered here should be in the format displayed in the “Date Format” field and must be later than the date entered in the “Removal From Date” field. |
Installation From Date |
The starting date in the range of dates in which the component installation date falls (Date Format). The date entered here should be in the format displayed in the “Date Format” field. |
Installation To Date |
The ending date in the range of dates in which the component installation date falls (Date Format). The date entered here should be in the format displayed in the “Date Format” field and must be later than the date entered in the “Installation From Date” field. |
Note: The system lists all the component replacement transactions in the multiline if all the search criteria fields are left blank.
Click the “Search” pushbutton to display the search results.
The system displays the following fields in the “Search Results” multiline:
Note: The system will not retrieve those component replacement transactions that are in “Error-Removed” or “Error-Replaced” status and that are associated to any aircraft with “Frozen” record status.

The SOS disposition of the part, such as Confirmed Failure, Suspected Failure, No Fault Found or Not Applicable. |
Part Description |
The textual description of the removed part. |
Removal Date |
The date on which the part was removed from the position code. |
Installation Date |
The date on which the new part is installed in the position code. |

Selecting component replacement transaction for amending – An overview
You can select a component replacement transaction and alter specific details. If you know the component replacement transaction number to be altered, you can directly enter it. Otherwise, you can carry out a search based on the component replacement transaction number, its status, aircraft registration number, position code, removed part, serial number, part description, component removal or installation date. The details of the selected component replacement transaction, such as its number, status, position code, component ID, removed part, serial number, part description, component removal and installation date are displayed. The system also displays the component transactions generated in the “Component Work Reporting” and “Flight Log” business components.
