Selecting part for entering replacement details

Unified Glossary

Basics of using a typical web page

Using Online Help

This page allows you to select a part for which the component replacement details are to be entered.  Tell me more.

The “Select Part #” page appears.

Removed Part #

The part for which the replacement details have to be entered (Alphanumeric, 40). Ensure that the part has already been identified in the “Maintain Part # Information“ activity under the “Aircraft” business component and is in “Active” status. The part number entered here must be of type “Component”.

Removed Serial #

The serial number of the part for which the replacement details must be entered (Alphanumeric, 40). Ensure that the serial number has already been identified in the “Maintain Part # Information“ activity under the “Aircraft” business component. The serial number must be a valid serial number for the part. Data entry in this field is mandatory if the “Removed Part #” field is entered.

Note: A component replacement transaction, other than in the "Cancelled" or "Replaced" status, should not have already been created in the position code where the removed part and serial number is fitted. The component ID must be in “Active” status.

Note: The component specified by the “Removed Part #” and “Removed Serial #” should satisfy the following conditions:

  1. The component must be in “Active” status.

  2. The component must not be attached to any aircraft with “Frozen” record status.

  3. The component must be currently attached to a position code across all levels in the aircraft configuration.

  4. The position code to which the component is currently attached must be in “Active” status.

To search for the component replacement transaction

Aircraft Reg #

The aircraft registration number for which the component replacement details are to be entered (Alphanumeric, 30). You can enter the number in full or enter it partially using “*” character. The system retrieves all the parts that are defined for the aircraft registration numbers, whose numbers are similar to the value entered here.

Alternately, you can also enter Nose # in the field. You can enter the number in full or specify it partially using the “*” character, similar to A/C Reg #.

The smart search retrieves component replacements associated with aircraft with Nose # similar to that you have entered in the field.

Aircraft Model #

The aircraft model for which the component replacement details are to be entered (Alphanumeric, 20). You can enter the number in full or enter it partially using “*” character. The system retrieves all the parts that are defined for the model, whose aircraft model numbers are similar to the value entered here.

Position Code

The position code for which the component replacement details are to be entered (Alphanumeric, 25). You can enter the number in full or enter it partially using “*” character. The system retrieves all the parts whose position codes are similar to the value entered here.

Part Description

Removed Sr #

The removed serial number for which the component replacement details are to be entered (Alphanumeric, 40). You can enter the number in full or enter it partially using “*” character. The system retrieves all the part numbers with the serial numbers whose numbers are similar to the value entered here.

Component Type

Use the drop-down list box to select the type of the component. The system lists all the component types defined in the “Maintain Part # Information” activity under the “Aircraft” business component. The system retrieves all components that are of the type selected here. Leave the field blank to retrieve components irrespective of their status. The system leaves this field blank by default.

Note: The system lists all the parts in the multiline if all the search criteria fields are left blank.

The system displays the following fields in the “Search Results“ multiline:

Note: The system retrieves all the position codes in “Active” status though it will not retrieve the details for an aircraft with “Frozen”/Inactive record status. However, if the process parameter 'Allow component removal from "Inactive" Aircraft?' under entity type Aircraft Entry and entity Aircraft is 1/Yes in the Define Process Entities activity of Common Master, search also retrieves Inactive aircraft.

Aircraft Reg #

The aircraft registration number.

The system retrieves all the aircraft registration numbers in “Active” status.

Position Code

The position code or the physical location where the part is fitted and the empty position that does not have component removal transaction in “Removed” status against the position code in the component movement history.

The system retrieves even those position codes that are empty with attachment status “Unknown” and having no “Removed Part #”, “Removed Serial #” or “Component #”.

Removed Part #

The part to be removed.

Removed Serial #

The serial number of the part to be removed.

Part Description

NHA Serial #

The serial number of the parent part.

Note: A component replacement transaction, other than in the "Cancelled" or "Replaced" status, should not have already been created in the selected position code, for the same removed part and serial number. Also, the component must be in “Active” status.

Note: You can invoke the “Update Component Replacement Details” page only if “Removed Part #” and “Serial #” combination is specified in the “Direct Entry” group box or if valid “Aircraft Reg #” and “Position Code” combination is available in the multiline.

Selecting part for entering replacement details – An Overview
