Basics of using a typical web page

Using Online Help

This page allows you to modify the usage-based schedule details for the work units. Tell me more.

The “Edit Usage Based Schedule” page appears.

Note: This page will be invoked only if “Shelf Life Expiry” flag is set as “No” in the “Edit Work Unit Information In Programs” page.

The system displays the following fields in the “Work Unit Details” group box:

Work Unit Update #

The number identifying the work unit update.

Maintenance Process

The maintenance process of the part, which could be “Hard-Time”, “On-Condition” or “Condition Monitoring”.

Work Unit #

The work unit number for which the date- based schedule details are to be modified.

Work Unit Type

The type of the work unit, which could be “Task”, “Std-Procedure” or “Work Package”.

Work Unit Desc

The textual description of the work unit.

Revision #

The revision number of the work unit.

Parameter

A code identifying the consumption parameter in the aircraft or its component (Alphanumeric, 40). Mandatory. This parameter must be of the “Consumption” type defined in the “Create Parameters’ activity of the “Aircraft” business component

Help facility available.

The system displays the following field when you click the “Edit Usage Based Schedule” pushbutton:

UOM

The unit of measurement of the parameter.

Schedule Type

Use the drop-down list box to specify whether the work unit has to be performed on a “Recurring” or “One-Time” basis. The system displays “Recurring” by default. This field should be set as “One-Time”, if the “Maintenance Type” of the work unit is “Retire”.

Mandatory when Remarks is provided regarding the maintenance program planned for the part.

Threshold

The number of days, weeks, months or years after which the work unit for the consumption parameter is to be carried out (Decimal). Data entry in this field is mandatory if the “Schedule Type” is set as “One-Time”. Ensure that the number entered in this field is positive.

Interval

The interval in which, the work unit for the consumption parameter is to be repeated (Decimal). Data entry in this field is mandatory if the “Schedule Type” is set as “Recurring”. Ensure that the number entered in this field is positive.

Alert Value

The value before the actual arising at which the alert needs to be given on the impending work unit execution (Decimal). Ensure that the number entered in this field is positive.

Positive Tolerance

The upper limit within which the work unit is to be performed (Decimal). Ensure that the number entered in this field is positive.

Negative Tolerance

The lower limit within which the work unit is to be performed (Decimal). Ensure that the number entered in this field is positive.

Terminating value

The value after which the maintenance activity cannot be performed on the component (Decimal).

Remarks

Any comments or supplementary information on the maintenance program planned for the part.

Note: Ensure that at least one schedule detail is entered in the multiline.

Note: The system displays the parameter values in the multiline based on the option “Decimal Format” or “HHMM Format” selected for the parameter in “Time Display Option” drop-down list box in the “Aircraft” business component while parameter creation. For e.g. If the Time Display Option is selected as “HHMM Format” and the value stored is 2.50 in the data base, the system displays  2.30 in the multiline.

Recording usage-based schedule for a work unit – An overview

Update Work Units in Programs - A summary of the activity

This page allows you to modify the usage-based schedule details for the work units. These schedules are dependent on the usage of the component and are based on the consumption parameters of the component. The schedule for the next performance of a work unit will be specified in terms of the value for the consumption parameter.

Usage-based schedules can be one-time or recurring. One-time means, that the schedule will be performed only once, when the corresponding parameter reaches the value specified. Recurring means, that the maintenance activity will be performed every time the parameter crosses the interval mentioned.

When a work unit of type “Work Package” is added and if schedules are already defined for the work package in the “Create Work Package” activity, then the system considers those schedules to arrive at the next schedule date. If a “threshold date” is provided, then this date is considered as the “Next Schedule Date”. If “threshold date” is not provided, the system adds the “Interval” to the “Manufacture Date” of the component (defined in the “Aircraft” business component) to arrive at the “Next Schedule Date”. If the manufacture date is also not available, the “Interval” is added to the “Component Induction date” to arrive at the “Next Schedule Date”.

Alert value or date specifies the value or date before actual arising of the schedule when the corresponding work unit is considered in the component maintenance forecast. You can also specify the positive and negative tolerance, which indicate the limits for the parameter value within which the work units are to be performed.

The system updates the usage-based schedule details for the work unit in the part programs or the component maintenance programs specified in the main page. It also stores the name of the currently logged in user and the current server date.

Indicate work unit schedule type for parameter

Usage-based schedules can be one-time or recurring. In case of one time schedule the work unit will be performed only once, when the corresponding parameter reaches the value specified. In the case of recurring, the work unit will be performed every time the parameter crosses the interval mentioned.
