Setting options for component maintenance program

Unified Glossary

Basics of using a typical web page

Using Online Help

This page enables you to define a system parameter that allows you to update the schedules of all the tasks in a work order. Tell me more.

The “Set Options” page appears.

The system displays the following field:

Date Format

The format in which the date field is displayed in this page. This format is displayed from the "User Preferences" business component based on the login user ID. In case the format is not defined, the system displays the date format from the "Enterprise Modeling" business component by default.

Compliance Updation Basis

Use the drop-down list box to select either “Actuals” or “Time Window” for executing  the work unit.

  • Actuals – Select this option if the next due date for carrying out the work   units must be calculated based on its previous completion. Tell me more .

  • Time Window – Select this option if the following conditions are applicable:

    1. Within the Tolerance limits: If the option is selected as “Time Window”, the NSD (Next Schedule Date/NSV (Next Schedule Value) will be calculated based on a scheduled fixed interval

    2. Beyond the Tolerance limits: If the option is selected as “Time Window”, the NSD/NSV will be calculated by adding the Repeat  Interval value to the date or value at which the work unit is actually executed.  Tell me more .

  Example:

Assume that the scheduled date for a work unit is 11-10-2008. If the tolerance value is specified as +/-2 days, the Earliest Schedule Date for the work unit is 09.10.2008 and the Latest Schedule Date for the work unit is 13.10.2008 (inclusive of 9.10.2008 and 13.10.2008) and the repeat interval is set as 20 days.

  • If the “Updation Basis” is selected as “Actuals”, and if the work unit was executed on 09.10.2008 (within the specified limits), the Next Schedule Date of the work unit is 29.10.2008 (i.e., 09.10.2008+20 days (Repeat Interval)).

  • If the “Updation Basis” is selected as “Time Window”,

    1. If the work unit was executed on 10.10.2008 (within the specified limits), the next schedule date of the work unit is 30.10.2008. (10.10.2008+20days).

    2.  If the work unit was executed on 05.10.2008 (beyond the specified limits), the next schedule date of the work unit is 25.10.2008 (05.10.2008+20days).

If both date based and usage based schedules are defined for the work unit, the “Sch.Exe Rule” (Values “Earliest” and “Latest”) identified for the work unit in the maintenance program will be considered.

Planner Group Security

Use the drop-down list box to specify whether planner group security is required or not. The combo is loaded with options “Required” and “Not Required”. The system defaults with “Not Required” if already saved value is not available for Planner Group Security.

Impact on Sch. Adj.

Use the drop- down list box to stipulate whether schedule adjustments must influence existing schedules for the scheduled adjusted task in component maintenance program. Select:

  • "Retain Existing Schedules", to retain the existing schedules for the scheduled adjusted task in component maintenance program.

  • "Reset to Template Schedules", to reset the existing schedules for the schedule adjusted tasks in the component program based on the part program.

Rules based Inheritance of As Required tasks to Execution documents

Use the drop-down list box to indicate whether the “As Required” tasks must be inducted into the execution document based on rules. The drop-down list box displays Applicable and Not Applicable.

Note: Here, the rules refer to the process parameters defined under the entity type “Schedule Disposition Code” in the Define Process Entities activity in Common Master. Based on the value defined for these parameters in the Define Process Entities activity, the “As Required” tasks are inducted into the execution document for aircraft/component.

Alert Value based inheritance of Scheduled tasks into Execution Documents

Use the drop-down list box to indicate whether the scheduled tasks must be inducted into the execution document based on the alert value. The drop-down list box displays Applicable and Not Applicable.

The system displays the following in the “Record Statistics” group box:

Last Modified By

The name of the user who last modified the option setting.

Last Modified Date

The date on which the option setting was last modified.

The system sets the option and stores the login user name as Last Modified By and the current server date as the last modified date.
