Entering skill type resource requirement for a work unit in component maintenance program
This page allows you to add or modify the details of the skill type resources required for executing. Tell me more.
Select the “Estimate Resources – Skill” link at the bottom of the “Edit Component Maintenance Program Information” page.
The “Estimate Resource– Skills Requirement ” page appears.
The system displays the following fields in the “Component Details” group box:
Part # |
The number identifying the part to which the component belongs. |
Part Description |
The textual description of part. |
Serial # |
The serial number of the component. |
Component # |
The number identifying the component for which the maintenance program details are to be updated. |
Maintenance Process |
Indicates the maintenance process associated with the part, which could be “Hard-Time”, “On-Condition” or “Condition Monitoring”. |
CMP Status |
The status of the component maintenance program, which could be “Fresh” or “Authorized”. |
Revision # |
The revision number of the component maintenance program. |
Enter the following in the “Maintenance Activity Details” group box:
Work unit # |
Use the drop-down list box to select the work unit for which the skill type resource requirement must be specified. The system lists all the work units that have been defined for the component maintenance program and prefixes it with “TSK”, “SP” or “WP” based on the type of the work unit. |
Click the “Get Details” pushbutton to retrieve the resource details that are already defined for the work unit.
The system displays the following after you click the “Get Details” pushbutton:
Work Unit Description |
The textual description of the task, standard procedure or work package. |
Maintenance Type |
The type of the maintenance activity to be carried out. |
Work Center # |
The work center where the work unit is performed. |
Work Center Description |
The textual description of the work center. |
Enter the following in the “Resource Details” multiline:
Resource # |
The resource required for completing the work unit (Alphanumeric, 40). Mandatory. The resource must have already been defined in the “Skills” type in the “Record Personal Information” activity of the “Employee Information” business component and must be unique to the multiline. |

Note: In the event of modifying an already associated resource number, the system displays an error message. Also, to delete an existing resource number, check the box in the “Select” column of the multiline and click the "Delete" icon.
The system fills in the following field after you click the “Edit Resource Estimates” pushbutton:
Resource Description |
The textual description of the resource. |
Enter the following:
Time Unit |
Use the drop-down list box to specify the unit of measurement for the resource time, which could be “Hours”, “Days” or “Minutes”. |
Reqd. Duration |
The number of hours, minutes or days the resource is required to complete the work unit (Integer). Ensure that the number entered in this field is positive. |
Required Number |
The number of resources required for completing the work unit (Integer). Mandatory. Ensure that the number entered in this field is positive. |
Sign Off (Y / N) |
Use the drop-down list box to indicate whether or not the user has to sign off after the work unit has been carried out by the resource. The options available are “Yes” and “No” and the system leaves the field blank by default. |
The system displays the following field after you click the “Edit Resource Estimates” pushbutton:
Resource Cost |
The cost of the resource. |
Note: Ensure that at least one resource detail is entered in the multiline.
Check the box in the “Select” column of the multiline to mark the resources for deletion.
Click the Delete icon in the toolbar above the multiline to delete the selected resource.
Click the “Edit Resource Estimates” pushbutton to update the resource details for the work unit.
This page allows you to add or modify the details of the skill type resources required for executing the work unit. If you wish to define the resources for the work unit, you can enter details such as resource code, required duration and number of resources needed. You can also indicate whether sign off is required or not. Based on this information, the sign off sheet will be automatically generated by the system during work reporting. You can also retrieve resources that have already been defined for the work unit and modify its details. The system updates the resource details and sets the current server date as the last modified date.
