The textual description of the work center. |
Enter the following in the “Date-based Schedule Details” multiline:
Schedule Type |
Use the drop-down list box to specify whether the work unit has to be performed on "Recurring” or “One-Time”. The system displays “Recurring” by default. This field should be set as “One-Time”, if the “Maintenance Type” of the work unit is “Retire”. The schedule type is mandatory, if Remarks is provided for the maintenance schedule planned for the part. |
Last Performed Date |
The date and time at which the work unit was last carried out on the component (Date & Time Format). The date and time entered in this field must be in the format displayed in the “Date Format” field and must be earlier than the current system date and time. |
Next Scheduled Date |
The date and time at which the next work unit is due for the component (Date & Time Format). The date and time entered in this field must be in the format displayed in the “Date Format” field and must be later than the last performed date. Data entry in this field is mandatory if the “Schedule Type” is set as “One-Time” and the “Threshold” field is left blank. You must not enter Next Schedule Date, if the component is not attached in an Aircraft and if ‘Reset on Attachment?’ for the task is selected as “Every Attachment”. NSD display logic: The Next Schedule Date (NSD) is computed as follows: NSD = Last Performed Date & Time + Interval The NSD computed is displayed based on the Process Parameter “Next Due computation logic” defined in the “Define Process Entities activity of the “Common Master” business component. For example, consider that LPD for a task is ‘10/01/2014 11: 00: 00’ and Interval is 15 days. Then NSD is displayed as follows:
|
Next Due Calc. On |
The computation basis of Next Schedule Date (NSD). The system displays various values depending on the basis on which NSD is computed. If the NSD computation basis is ‘Manufacturer Date’, values displayed are:
If the NSD computation basis is ‘Update Basis’, values displayed are:
If the NSD computation basis is ‘Schedule Reset Basis’, following values are displayed:
If the NSD computation is based on the Change Type selection, the system displays the following values:
If the compliance of parent task triggers Related Task Compliance, the following value is displayed:
|
Calc. Ref. Date |
The reference date based on which NSD is computed. |
Last Schedule Date |
The actual schedule date of task on last compliance. |
Note: On releasing the engineering document, the system updates the NSD / NSV and the NSD / NSV computation basis controls ‘Next Due Calc. On’, ‘Calc. Ref. Date’ and ‘Last Schedule Date / Value’ in various scenarios, as explained in the table. |
|
Change Type |
Use the drop-down list box to indicate whether NSD can be modified on modification of interval. The system lists the following values:
Data selection in this field is mandatory, if ‘Last Performed Date’ or ‘Next Scheduled Date’ is modified. Else you must not select ‘Change Type’. You cannot modify the Change Type, if ‘Interval’ or ‘Threshold’ is modified. By default, the system leaves the field blank. |
Time Unit |
Use the drop-down list box to specify the unit of measurement of time. The system lists the options “Days”, “Weeks”, “Months”, "Month End" and “Years”. The system displays “Days” by default. |
Threshold |
The value of the parameter when the schedule will start. Data entry in this field is mandatory if the “Schedule Type” is set as “One-Time” and the “Next Schedule Date” field is left blank. Ensure that the number entered in this field is positive. |
Note: If the threshold and next schedule date and time are entered, the system ensures that the next schedule date and time is later than the date and time arrived at by adding the threshold to the component-manufactured date and time.
The system does not perform the above check, if schedule type is “One Time” and if “Last Performed Date” is available for the schedule type “Recurring”.
Interval |
The interval in which the work unit is to be repeated (Decimal). Ensure that the number entered in this field is positive. |
Alert Value |
The value of the parameter before the next arising when an alert needs to be given for the impending work unit execution (Decimal). Ensure that the number entered in this field is positive |
Positive Tolerance |
The upper limit within which the work unit is to be performed (Decimal). Ensure that the number entered in this field is positive. |
Negative Tolerance |
The lower limit within which the work unit is to be performed (Decimal). Ensure that the number entered in this field is positive. |
Terminating Date |
The date and time at or after which the maintenance requirements terminates. In other words, the date on or after which maintenance activity need not be performed on the component (Date & Time format). Ensure that the date and time specified in the "Last Performed Date" and "Next Scheduled Date" fields are earlier than the terminating date and time. |
Terminating value (days) |
The value after which maintenance requirement terminates. In other words, the number of days after which maintenance activity need not be performed on the component (decimal). Ensure that the value given in the "Threshold" field is less than the terminating value. |
Update Basis |
Use the drop-down list box to specify the basis of updating the work units of the maintenance program. The system lists the following options:
The system lists / defaults the value “Last Performed Date” if ‘Reset on Attachment?’ is set as “Not Required” and lists / defaults “Installation Date” if ‘Reset on Attachment?’ is set as “First Attachment” / “Every Attachment” in the “Edit Component Maintenance Program Information” page. The system sets this field to “Last Performed Date” by default. |
Note: If you have not entered the “Terminating Date” but have specified the “Terminating Value”, then the system calculates the terminating date and time by adding the terminating value to the “Manufacturing Date & Time”. If the “Manufacturing Date & Time” is also not entered, then the system adds the terminating value to the “Component Induction Date & Time” to arrive at the “Terminating Date”.
Remarks |
Any comments or supplementary information on the maintenance schedule planned for the part (Alphanumeric 2000). Click the |
Click the “Edit Date-based Schedule” pushbutton to update the date-based schedule details.
Note: You can update the schedule details for a task only if the maintenance operator associated with the task is also mapped to the login user, if the process parameter "Allow addition/modification of tasks from other Maint. Operator codes in Part Program?" under the 'Tech. Records Process Ctrl' entity type and 'Part Prog' entity is set as '0' for No in the Define Process Entities activity of Common Master.
The system performs the following on updating the date-based schedule details:
For "One-Time" and "Recurring" schedules, the system calculates Next Schedule Date on updating the date-based schedule details, based on the value of ‘Reset on Attachment?’, as shown below:
Reset on Attachment? |
NSD |
Not Required |
NSD = Last Performed Date + Interval |
First Attachment |
|
Every Attachment |
Note: If user provides the Next Schedule Date manually, the system saves the user entered value. Further attachment of the component to an aircraft will overwrite the user entered Next Schedule Date. |
If the Eng. doc reference # exists for the task, the system allows you to modify the following schedule details of the Eng. Doc. task in the Maintenance Program, only if the process parameter “Allow modification of Eng. Doc. task in Maintenance Program” is set as “Allowed” in the “Define Process Entities” activity of the “Common Master” business component.

Entering date based schedules for a work unit – An overview
This page allows you to enter the date-based schedules for the work unit associated with the component maintenance program. Date-based schedules have their periodicity defined in terms of calendar days. The schedule for the next performance of the maintenance activity will be specified in terms of a calendar date.
Date-based schedules are employed for maintenance activities which are to be performed irrespective of the asset usage, or if the asset has a constant usage pattern (in which case activities based on usage can be translated into date-based schedules). Routine maintenance based on date schedules has a higher degree of predictability, which inherently increases planning efficiency.
The date-based schedule can be of the recurring (floating) type, or one-time. In case of recurring schedule, the next due date is calculated from the date of execution of the previous schedule. You can specify the date on which the work unit has been last preformed and the next schedule date of the work unit. The update basis is the reference for calculating the next schedule date.
You can specify the threshold value for a date when the work unit execution should begin and the interval in which the work unit execution has to be repeated. You can also specify the alert value for a date after which the corresponding work unit is considered in the component maintenance forecast.
You can specify the positive and negative tolerance, which indicates the limits of the execution date within which the work units is to be performed.
The system updates the date-based schedule details and stores the name of the currently logged in user and the current server date.
Note: The system will not allow you to define date based schedules for a work unit if the "Shelf Life Expiry" field for that work unit is set to "Yes" in the "Edit Component Maintenance" page.
The date-based schedule can be of the recurring (floating) type, or one-time type. In the case of “One Time” the work unit will be performed only once on a particular date. In the case of “Recurring” the work unit will be performed based on the time intervals.
Set the “Schedule Type” field as “Recurring” to indicate that the work unit is to be performed in repeated intervals.
Set the “Schedule Type” field as “One-Time” to indicate that the work unit is to be performed only once on a specified date.
