Authorizing component maintenance program
This page allow you to authorize the component maintenance programs in bulk or a particular component maintenance program that you have selected. Tell me more.
Select the “Authorize Component Maintenance Program” link under the “Component Maintenance Program” business component.
The “Authorize Component Maintenance Program” page appears.
The system displays the following:
Date Format |
The format in which the date fields must be displayed in this page. This format is displayed from the "User Preferences" business component based on the login user id. In case the format is not defined, the system displays the date format from the “Enterprise Modeling” business component by default. |
Enter the following filter criteria in the “Search Criteria” group box to search for a part. Data entry in these fields is optional:
Component # |
The number identifying the component for which the details are to be retrieved (Alphanumeric, 90). You can enter the number in full, or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system lists all the component numbers that are similar to the value entered here. |
Maintenance Process |
Use the drop-down list box to select the maintenance process, which could be “Hard-Time”, “On-Condition” or “Condition Monitoring”. The system retrieves all the components associated with the parts of the maintenance process selected here. The system leaves the field blank by default. |
Part # |
The number identifying the part to which the component belongs (Alphanumeric, 40). You can enter the number in full, or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all the components belonging to this part. |
Serial # |
The serial number of the component. You can enter the number in full, or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all the components whose serial numbers are similar to the number entered here. |
Part Description |
The textual description of the part in full or specify it partially using “*” character. The system retrieves the components belonging to the part whose descriptions are similar to the description entered here. |
ATA # |
The ATA chapter to which the part belongs (Alphanumeric, 16). You can enter the ATA chapter number in full, or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all the parts whose ATA chapter numbers are similar to the value entered here. |
Status |
Use the drop-down list box to select the status of the component for which you want to retrieve maintenance programs. The drop-down list box displays Active and Inactive. To retrieve component maintenance programs of Active components, select Active. On the contrary, select Inactive, if you wish to retrieve maintenance programs of Inactive components. Leave the field blank, if you wish to retrieve maintenance programs of components, regardless of their status. |
Click the “Search” pushbutton to display the search results.
Note: The system retrieves all the components, which have maintenance programs in the “Fresh” status.
The system will not retrieve the components that are attached to the aircraft with record status “Frozen”.
If the option setting “Planner Group Security” is set as “Required” in the Set Options activity, then the system retrieves only those parts associated to the Planner group to which the login user has been mapped.
The system displays the following in the “Component Details” multiline based on the search criteria specified:

Maintenance Process |

The revision number of the component maintenance program. |
Status |
The status of the component such as Active or Inactive. |
Updated By |
The name of the user who updated the component maintenance program. |
Updated Date |
The date on which the component maintenance program was updated. |
Enter the following:
Select All |
Check the box to mark all the component maintenance programs displayed in the multiline for authorization. |
Click the “Authorize CMP” pushbutton to authorize the component maintenance program.
Note: On clicking “Authorize CMP”, the system pops up a confirmation message ‘Would you like to Authorize CMP?” before proceeding the authorization of component maintenance program.
Note: Ensure that at least one row is available for processing.
The system performs the following on clicking the “Authorize CMP” pushbutton:
Sets the status of the selected component maintenance program as “Authorized”.
If a revision of the component maintenance program already exists in the authorized status, it will be retained with the status set as “Revised” and the latest revision will be changed to “Authorized” status.
Note: Ensure that the part number of the selected component maintenance program is mapped to a restoration work unit in the “Maintain Restoration Work Unit” activity, if there is at least one off-wing work unit in the component maintenance program and if the “Parent Removal” flag of the part is set as “Not Required” in the “Maintain Component Maintenance Program” activity.
If the “Shelf Life Expiry” flag for the work units is set as “Yes” in the “Maintain Component Maintenance Program” activity, the system authorizes the component maintenance program, irrespective of the link information set for the program.
Note: The system ensures that, for each record selected in the multiline, either next schedule date or next schedule value is defined for one or all the Work Units of Schedule Type as Recurring.
Engineering document impact: If the Eng. doc reference # exists for the task and if the task details are modified, the system allows you to Authorize the Component Maintenance Program, only if the process parameter “Allow modification of Eng. Doc. task in Maintenance Program” is set as “Allowed” in the “Define Process Entities” activity of the “Common Master” business component. Upon authorization of the maintenance program, the ‘Program Updated?’ flag in the engineering document effective to the component is set as ‘Yes’.
If the task available in the Component Maintenance Program with Escalation Ref # is inactivated in the “Maintain Component Maintenance Program” page, the system deletes the task from the pending tray, if the Line Status of the task is updated as “Cancelled” as shown in the below table.

The system deletes all the tasks whose Line Status is updated as “Cancelled”, from the pending tray.
Click the “Cancel CMP” pushbutton to cancel the specific revision of the component maintenance program.
Note: You can cancel component maintenance program only if it is in the ‘Fresh’ status.
To modify the maintenance program details:
Select the hyperlinked component number to modify the maintenance program for the component.
