Planning Aircraft Maintenance – A summary of the activity
This activity provides the aircraft planner a summary of all the work units that are due, for the aircraft. Forecasted work units from the maintenance program form the primary input for planning of aircraft maintenance. The due dates for the work units are calculated during forecast generation, based on the time limits provided in the maintenance program. Non-routine work units (MELs, deferred maintenance items, log book entries) are also displayed for planning, with visibility on their time limits.
You can plan the maintenance using either of the two methods given below:
Using the Gantt chart
Using the “Work Unit Details” multiline
The planning is done by the aircraft planner by using Gantt charts
The “Planning Summary Details Chart” provides consolidated information about multiple aircraft satisfying the search criteria. Grouping of aircrafts based on Sub Fleet, Aircraft Model, Planner Group, Aircraft Group, Field Base and Customer is also possible through the chart.
The “Planning Details Chart” provides information about a specific aircraft selected from the “Planning Summary Details Chart”, and can be used for performing detailed planning actions.

What you can do in this activity
Evaluating fleet of aircraft for maintenance
Scheduling maintenance activities for a particular aircraft
Evaluating fleet of aircraft for maintenance
You can retrieve aircraft for which maintenance activities are to be planned for a given date range. All the aircraft and pending work units, on aircraft satisfying the search criteria, are displayed in the “Planning Summary Details Chart”.
The work units scheduled start and end date can be modified by dragging over the bar. If the work unit is allocated to any execution document, then the work unit bar cannot be dragged in the Gantt Chart.
If there are any material / resource constraints for carrying out the task on the work unit, they are also displayed.
Scheduling maintenance activities for a particular aircraft
You can modify / view the maintenance activities scheduled for a particular aircraft. The flight schedules, journey logs and pending work units for the aircraft are displayed in the “Planning Details Chart”.
The user can take necessary action on the work unit (Assign, Un-assign, Create Visit Package, Create Technical Log, Create and Release Visit Package), and plan the maintenance activity accordingly.
