Defining default cost centers for accounting usages
Select the “Set Parameters – Default Cost Centers” link under the “Finance Setup” business component.
The “Set Parameters – Default Cost Centers” page appears.
Enter the following.
Finance Book |
Use the drop-down list box to select the finance book associated to which the cost centers. Mandatory. The list displays all the “Active” finance books mapped to the business unit. |
The system displays the following in the “Default Cost Center for Usages” multiline.
Usage |
The accounting usages are displayed in this column of the multiline. The list displays the following: Invoice Rate Variance ,Withholding Tax - Expensed Off, Invoice Quantity Variance, Repair Expense Variance, Exchange Rate Variance, Rounding Off, Bank Charges, BER Cost/Salvage Value, Purchase Price Variance, Exchange Price Variance, Excess Prepayment Tax Prov Expensed Off, Claim Account, Write-Off Capital Parts, Write-Off Revenue Parts, Exchange Fee, PBH Service Fee, Scrap Account, Stock Correction – Part Attribute Change, Part Exchange Variance, Scrap Cost Variance, Production Variance, Rental Revenue, “Account Balance Currency Revaluation - Gain (ACCRREVGN)”, “Account Balance Currency Revaluation - Loss (ACCRREVLS)” and Subcontract Consumption. The system defaults this field with the first usage heading the list box. |
Note: The usages are system-defined; new usages may be added or existing usages may be deleted based on the client requirements. Hence, the Usage drop-down list box may not always display the values mentioned above.
Enter the following.
Note: For the selected finance book, the system displays the cost center and cost center description, if cost center-usage mapping exists. However you can modify the mapping definition, if required.
Cost Center |
The cost center to which the accounting entries for the usage are posted. By default, the system displays the default cost center for the specified finance book, if defined previously. Help facility available |
Note: You must ensure the following: 1) The cost center you specify must have an Active status. 2) The account code mapped to the usage must be mapped of the cost center.
The system displays the following
Cost Center Description |
The name/short description of the cost center. |
Select the “Set” pushbutton to save the default Cost Center specified.
The system saves the default cost centers for the usages in the finance book.
