Basics of using a typical web page

Using Online Help

This page allows you to modify the work center details that are already defined. Tell me more.

The “Edit Work Center Information” page appears.

The system displays the following:

Date Format

The format in which the date field is displayed. This format is displayed from the "User Preferences" business component based on the login user ID. In case the format is not defined, the system displays the date format from the "Enterprise Modeling" business component by default.

The system displays the following field in the “Work Center Details” group box:

Work Center #

The number identifying the work center.

Status

Use the drop-down list box to modify the status of the work center. The system provides the options “Active” or “Inactive”. Set the status as “Inactive” if you wish to disable the work center from any future reference in other activities.

You cannot modify the Status, if the ‘Mode of Usage’ defined for the Work Center is “Offline”.

Note: You can inactivate the work center only when the work center is not associated to any execution organizational unit.

Work Center Description

The modified textual description of the work center (Alphanumeric, 150). Mandatory.

Work Center Category

Use the drop down list box to modify the work center category. The system displays the quick codes that were defined during the “Create Quick Codes” activity, of type “Work center” and of status “Active”. Leave the field blank if you do not wish to specify the work center category. The system sets this field to the quick code, associated to this work center in the “Create Work Center” activity, by default.

Work Center Type

Use the drop-down list box to select the type of the work center, from one of the following options:

  • “Hangar” – If the maintenance activity is to be performed in the hangar.

  • “Bay” – If the maintenance activity is to be performed in the bay of the hangar.

  • “Shop” – If the maintenance activity is to be performed in the shop floor.

  • “Line” – If the maintenance activity is to be performed in the line station.

  • “Others” – If the maintenance activity is to be performed in locations other than hangar, bay, shop floor and line station.

Note: You can modify this field only when the work center is not associated to any execution organizational unit.

The work center type “Others” will not be considered for maintenance planning in “LIN” and “PLN” modules.

Work Center Class

Use the drop-down list box to specify whether the work center is set as execution work center or reference work center. The system lists the following values:

  • Execution – Select this option to specify that the work center is set as an execution work center to which the components must be routed automatically for maintenance activity.

  • Reference – Select this option to specify that the work center may be a virtual work center set as reference for the execution work center.

The system displays “Execution”, by default.

For the work center # specified, you can modify the “Work Center Class” from “Reference” to “Execution”, only if the work center is not mapped as Reference Work Center to any other Execution Work Centers in the “Edit Exe.Org Unit level Workcenter Details” page of the current business component.

You can modify the “Work Center Class” from “Execution” to “Reference”, only if attribute mapping is not defined for the work center. Attribute mapping may be ‘Warehouse mapping’, ‘Station mapping’, ‘User mapping’, ‘Employee mapping’, ‘Capability mapping’, ‘Shift mapping’ and ’Slot mapping’.

You cannot modify the Work Center Class, if the ‘Mode of Usage’ defined for the Work Center is “Offline”.

The system displays the following fields:

Created By

The name of the user who created the work center.

Created Date

The date on which the work center was created.

Last Modified By

The name of the user who last modified the work center.

Last Modified Date
