This page allows you to maintain employee information. Tell me more.

The “Edit Employee Information” page appears.

The system displays the following details of the selected employee in the “Employee Work Center Details” group box:

Employee #

The employee whose details are to be modified.

Employee Name

The name of the employee.

Work Center #

Use the drop-down list box to modify the work center to which the employee is associated. The system lists all the work centers, which are in “Active” status and of Work Center Class “Execution”, associated to the login organizational unit. By default, the system displays the work center to which the employee is associated in the “Associate Work Center Attributes” activity.

The system displays the following field:

Work Center Description

The textual description of the work center.

Work Center Type

The type of the work center, which could be “Hangar”, “Bay” or “Others”.

The system displays the following fields in the “Employee Skill Details” group box:

Primary Skill #

The code identifying primary skill of the employee as defined in the “Create Employee File“ activity of the “Employee Information“ business component.

Status

The status of the employee.

Primary Skill Description

The textual description of the primary skill.

Association Status

Use the drop-down list box to select the status of association of employee to the work center. The system lists the options "Active" and "Inactive". By default, this field is set to "Active".

The system displays the following field:

Resource Group

The resource group to which the employee belongs. This could be "Inspector", "Mechanic" or "Others".

Service Area

Use the drop-down list box to modify the area in which the employee can serve. For example, the planner of a location can schedule or allocate work to the work center, only if the location to which the work center is attached, is the service area for that planner. Select one of the following options:

  • Current work center - if the employee can serve only in the current work center.

  • Child work center - if the employee can serve in all the child work centers that belong to the hierarchy of the current work center, including the current work center.

  • All Work centers - if the employee can serve in all the work centers associated to the login organizational unit.

  • Current Station Work Center – If the employee can serve in the current station-work center combination.

Productivity Factor

The number that indicates the efficiency of the employee on a 0 to 1 scale (Decimal).  If you leave the field blank, the system sets this field to “1” by default.

Planner (Y / N)

Use the drop-down list box to indicate whether the employee is a planner or not. Select “Yes” to identify the employee as a “planner”. A “planner” is responsible for activities such as resource allocation, resource leveling and job scheduling, within work centers.

The system displays the following field:

Rate / Hr

The rate of the employee on an hourly basis

Note: The system updates the details of the employee and also refreshes the “Work Center Description” field if you have re-defined the association between the employee and the work center.

Maintain Employee Information - A summary of the activity

In this page, you can modify the details of the selected employee with respect to maintenance activities. You can also re-define the association between the selected employee and the work center. Details of the selected employee such as the productivity factor, resource group to which the employee belongs, service area in which the employee can serve and rate can be modified.

You can also identify the selected employee as a planner in this activity. Only a ‘planner’ will be able to assign jobs to employees and equipment, during work order execution. The planner is responsible for activities such as resource allocation, resource leveling and job scheduling, within work centers.
