Associating work units to aircraft models
This page allows you to associate work units to aircraft models. Tell me more.
Select the “Associate Work Units” link at the bottom of the “Edit Aircraft Model Capability” page.
The “Edit Aircraft Work Unit Capability” page appears.
The system displays the following fields in the “Work Center Details” group box:
Work center # |
The work center to which the aircraft model was associated. |
Work center description |
The textual description of the work center. |
Work Center Type |
The type of the work center, which could be “Hangar”, “Bay”, "Shop", "Line" or “Others”. |
Work Center Category |
Use the drop-down list box to select the category of the work center. The system lists all the quick codes of type “Work center category” and of status “Active” in the “Create Quick Codes” activity. Leave the field blank to retrieve all work centers irrespective of the work center category. The system leaves the field blank by default. |
Enter the following field :
Aircraft Model # |
Use the drop-down list box to select the aircraft model to which you wish to associate work units. The system lists all the aircraft models that are associated to the work center. |
Click the “Get Details” pushbutton to display the details of the selected aircraft model.
The system displays the following field:

The textual description of the selected aircraft model. |
On clicking the “Get Details” pushbutton, the system fills in the following multiline fields for work units that have already been associated to the aircraft model. You can associate more work units to the aircraft model by entering the following fields in the multiline:
Work Unit Type |
Use the drop-down list box to select the type of the work unit, which can be “Task”, “Standard Procedure” or “Work Package”. The system displays “Task” by default. |
Work Unit # |
The number identifying the work unit (Alphanumeric, 30) Mandatory. If the work unit is of the type “Task”, ensure that the work unit code has already been defined in the “Create Task” activity of the “Maintenance Task” business component. If the work unit is of type “Standard Procedure”, ensure that the work unit code has already been defined in the “Create Standard Procedure” activity of the “Maintenance Task” business component. If the work unit is of type “Work Package”, ensure that the work unit code has already defined in the “Create Work Package” activity of the “Maintenance Program” business component. Help facility available. |
Note:Ensure that the work unit of the specified type is already defined for the aircraft model in the “Maintenance Task” business component.
The system displays the following field in the multiline on clicking the “Edit Capability” pushbutton:

Enter the following fields in the "Change Order Execution Capability" group box:
Change Doc Type |
Indicates the change documents that can be executed on the aircraft model in the work center.

Check the box in the “Select” column of the multiline to mark the work unit.
Click the Delete icon in the tool bar above the multiline, to delete the work units selected in the multiline.
Click the “Edit Capability” pushbutton to associate the work units to the selected aircraft model.
Note: The system fills in the “Work Unit Description” field in the multiline and associates the work units to the aircraft model.
Associating work units to aircraft models – An overview
This activity allows you to identify the work units, on which maintenance activities can be carried out, and associate them to the selected aircraft model. Work units in an aircraft can be of type “Task”, “Standard Procedure” or “Work Package”.
Using this activity, you can also view the details of the work units that have already been associated to the aircraft model. Details such as the type of the work unit, work unit code, work unit description and remarks are displayed. You can re-define the association between the work units and the aircraft model by adding new work units or deleting the work units that have already been associated.
“Create Aircraft Model” activity of the “Aircraft” business component.
“Create Task” activity of the “Maintenance Task” business component if work unit is a task.
“Create Standard Procedure” activity of the “Maintenance Task” business component if work unit is a standard procedure.
“Create Work Package” activity of the “Maintenance Program” business component if the work unit is a work package.
