Entering component effectivity details for the task
This page allow you to define the component effectivity, that is, indicate the applicability of the task for the components. Tell me more
Select the “Edit Component Effectivity” link at the bottom of the “Edit Task Information” page.
The “Edit Component Effectivity” page appears.
The system displays the following fields in the “Task Details” group box:
Task # |
The task for which the component effectivity details have to be defined. |
Revision # |
The revision number of the task for which the component effectivity details have to be defined. |
Task Description |
The textual description of the task. |
Task Applicability |
The applicability of the task. |
Enter the following in the “Part Details” multiline:
Part # |
The part reference of the component on which the task has to be performed (Alphanumeric, 40). The part specified here must have been identified as “Component” in the “Create Parts Main Information” activity of the “Part Administration” business component” and should be in “Active” status. The part # is mandatory, if you want to record comments in the “Component Effectivity” multiline. Help facility available. |
The system displays the following fields for you to enter, and hides the “Part #” field above, if the parameter “Enable Manufacturer Part # control in transaction” for the Category ‘Manufacturer Part #’ is set as “Yes” in the “Set Inventory Process Parameters” activity of the “Logistics Common Master” business component.
Mfr. Part # |
The number assigned to the part, by the manufacturer of the part. (Alphanumeric, 40). Mandatory. The manufacturer part number entered must be already defined in the "Part Administration" business component. Help facility available. |
Mfr. # |
The code identifying the manufacturer of the part. (Alphanumeric, 45). Data entry in this field is mandatory, if the same manufacturer part number belonging to different manufacturer number is available in more than one row in the multiline. Help facility available. |
Note: The Mfr. Part # - Mfr. # combination must be defined in the “Part Administration” business component, and must not be repeated in the multiline.
The system fills in the following field:
Part Description |
The description of the part reference of component. While adding components for the task, this field is filled in by the system on clicking the “Edit Effectivity” pushbutton. |
Enter the following field:
Prime Part Group Applicability |
Selection of Prime Part Group Applicability will not have any impact on Task-Part effectivity. The system lists the values “Yes” and “No”. |
Comments |
Any additional information on the applicability of the task to the component (Alphanumeric, 200). |
Click the hyperlinked part description in the multiline, to view part information.
Check the box in the “Select” column of the multiline to mark the component for deletion.
Click the Delete icon in the tool bar above the multiline, to delete the components selected in the multiline.
The system displays the following on click of the “Edit Effectivity” pushbutton.

The login user name of the employee who created the component effectivity record. |
Created Date/Time |
The date and time when the component effectivity record was created. |
Last Modified by |
The login user ID of the employee who most recently modified the component effectivity record. |
Last Modified Date/Time |
The date and time when the component effectivity record was most recently modified. |
Click the “Edit Effectivity” pushbutton to add or modify the component effectivity details for the task.
Note: In the case of modifying the component effectivity details of a "Returned” task, the system changes the status of the task to “Fresh” status. The status log is also updated.
Updating sequence control
If you have accessed this page from “Maintain Activated Tasks” activity, the components for which the task is effective are mapped to the sequence control # to which the task is mapped. However, this happens only if the WBS code for the task has the "Repair Scheme process parameter set to “1”.
To proceed carry out the following:
Select the “View Maint. Operator Effectivity” link at the bottom of the page to view the maintenance operator effectivity details.
Select the “Record Task Part Mod Details” link at the bottom of the page to update part modification details for the task.
Entering component effectivity details for the task – An overview
In this page, you can define the component effectivity, that is, indicate the applicability of the task for the components.
You can enter the component on which the task is to be performed, and the corresponding component details are displayed in the multiline. You can add more parts of type “Component “or modify the details of parts that have already been defined for the task. You can also specify whether the task is applicable for all the serial number of the part and for the all serial number of the part whose base part number is the specified part.
The system updates the details of the components and sets the last modified date to the server date.
