Editing standard procedure details
This page allow you to modify the details of the selected standard procedure. Tell me more
Select the hyperlinked standard procedure number in the multiline of the "Select Standard Procedure" page.
The “Edit Standard Procedure Information” page appears.
The system displays the following field:
Date Format |
The format in which the date fields appears in this page. This format is displayed from the "User Preferences" business component based on the login user id. In case the format is not defined, the system displays the date format from the “Enterprise Modeling” business component by default. |
Enter the following field in the “Standard Procedure Details” group box:
SP Applicability |
Use the drop-down list box to modify the applicability of the standard procedure. The system provides the options, “Aircraft”, “Engine” and “Component”. |
The system displays the following fields in the “Standard Procedure Details” group box:
Base Aircraft Model # |
The number identifying the base aircraft model on which the standard procedure can be performed |
Std. Procedure # |
The selected standard procedure for which the details are to be modified. |
Enter the following fields:
Status |
Use the drop-down list box to modify the status of the standard procedure to “Active” or “Inactive”. Set the status as “Inactive” if you wish to disable the standard procedure from future reference in other activities. |
ATA # |
The ATA chapter number on which the standard procedure can be executed (Alphanumeric,16). Help facility available. |
SP Type |
The type of the standard procedure. Any user-defined categorization of standard procedure |
Std. Procedure Description |
The textual description of the standard procedure (Alphanumeric, 150). Mandatory. This field should not be left blank. |
Long Description |
The long description of the standard procedure (Alphanumeric, 2000). |
Enter the following fields to modify the details of the selected standard procedure:
Operations Type |
Use the drop-down list box to select the operation type of the maintenance activity. The system lists the following options:
The system displays “Repair Station” by default. |
Resolve Relationship |
Check this box to associate a “Finish-Start relationship” for the corresponding preceding and succeeding tasks, if a task included in the standard procedure is deleted in the multiline. |
Work Center # |
The number identifying the work center primarily responsible for executing the work unit (Alphanumeric, 30). Help facility available. |
MPD Item # |
The Maintenance Planning Document item number of the standard procedure (Alphanumeric, 40). |
Enter the following fields in the “Revision Details” group box:
Revision # |
The revision number for the standard procedure (Alphanumeric, 40). |
Revision Date |
The date on which the standard procedure is revised (Date Format). |
Revision Comments |
Any other remarks pertaining to the revision of the standard procedure (Alphanumeric, 255). |
Enter the following fields in the “Additional Information” group box:
Est. Elapsed Time |
The total time estimated for completing the standard procedure (Decimal). Mandatory. The estimated elapsed time also includes time required for performing pre-execution or post-execution activities. Use the drop-down list box provided alongside, to modify the unit of measurement for the time allotted for the standard procedure. The system displays the options “Minutes”, “Hours” and “Days”. |
Est. Man Hrs. |
The total man-hours estimated for “skill” type resources to execute the standard procedure (Decimal). Mandatory. You can provide a resource-wise breakup for the total estimated man-hours in the “Resource Information” page. If the resource details are entered in the “Resource Information” page, the system sets the field to the estimated man-hours, or the sum total of the estimated duration entered for ‘skill’ type resources, whichever is greater. |
Wrench Time |
The total time estimated for the actual execution of the standard procedure (Decimal). |
Ideal Time |
The ideal time recommended by the OEMs for the completion of the standard procedure (Decimal). |
Note: The time unit selected for the “Est. Elapsed Time” is set as the time unit for the Wrench Time and Ideal Time.
Enter the following in the “Task Details” multiline:
Seq # |
The sequence in which the task should be performed in the standard procedure (Integer). Ensure that the sequence number is a positive integer and is unique in the multiline. |
If you have leave the sequence number blank, the system automatically assigns a sequence number to each of them, in the order in which they are entered in the multiline, on clicking the “Edit Standard Procedure” pushbutton. Ensure that you do not leave it blank for any of the tasks occurring in between. For any random entry of sequence numbers, the system assigns continuous sequence numbers starting from “1”. |

Task # |
The task to be included in the standard procedure (Alphanumeric, 30). Mandatory. This task should have already been defined in the “Create task” activity and is in the “Active” status. |

Note: If a new task is added in the multiline the system copies the common effectivity details of all the tasks to the standard procedure. For example, if task T1 effectivity is (A1, A2, A3) and T2 effectivity is (A1,A2), then the system copies A1 and A2 as effectivity of Std. Procedure.
For the task entered, the system considers the latest revision in “Active” status.
The system fills in the following fields on clicking the “Edit Standard Procedure” pushbutton:

The textual description entered for the task with the latest revision date is displayed here. |
Time Unit |
The unit of measurement for the time required for completing the task. |
Est. Elapsed Time |
The total time required for completing the task. The estimated elapsed time also includes time required for performing pre-execution or post-execution activities. |
Enter the following field:
Starting Day |
The starting day for execution of each task in the standard procedure (Integer). The value entered here must be positive. |
The system displays the following field:

The Maintenance Planning Document item number of the task. |
Click the hyperlinked task description in the multiline, to view task information.
Check the box in the “Select” column of the multiline to mark the task for deletion.
Click the Delete icon in the tool bar above the multiline, to delete the tasks selected in the multiline.
Note: While deleting a task in the multiline, if the “Resolve Relationship” box is clicked, the system automatically assigns a “Finish – Start” relationship between the tasks preceding and succeeding the task being deleted. If the “Resolve Relationship” box is left blank, the system deletes the task and its relationship with its preceding and succeeding tasks. If the task being deleted has only preceding tasks, or only succeeding tasks, the “Resolve Relationship” box does not have any significance.
If you wish to insert tasks in the multiline and assign sequence numbers for them, click the “Re - Number” pushbutton to rearrange the existing rows in the ascending order of the sequence number. The system regenerates the sequence number in multiples of five, thereby enabling you to specify the sequence number for the newly added task.

The system displays either “All” or “Restricted” depending on the association of aircraft models to the standard procedure. |

The system updates the “Starting Day” of the standard procedure as “1”, if no value is specified in the "Starting Day" field.
Note: This action is workflow-enabled. Notification messages can be sent as per the settings you have defined in the "Workflow Management" business component.
The system displays the following in the “Record Date Details” group box:

The date on which the standard procedure was created. |

The name of the user who modified the standard procedure. |

Any additional remarks pertaining to the modification of the standard procedure. Typically, the reason for modifying the standard procedure can be entered here (Alphanumeric, 255). |
To proceed, carry out the following
Select the “Edit Model Effectivity” link at the bottom of the page to specify the aircraft models for which the standard procedure is applicable.
Select the “Edit Component Effectivity” link at the bottom of the page to specify the components for which the standard procedure is applicable. The “Component Effectivity” page is launched only when you have selected “Engine” or “Component in the standard procedure applicability.
Select the “Edit Parts Requirement” link at the bottom of the page to specify the parts that are required for executing the standard procedure.
Select the “Edit Resource Requirement” link at the bottom of the page to specify the resources that are required for executing the standard procedure.
Select the “Edit Task Relationship” link at the bottom of the page to specify the relationship between the tasks in the standard procedure.
Select the “View Customer Effectivity” link at the bottom of the page to view the customer effectivity details of the standard procedure.
Select the “View Task Card” link at the bottom of the page to view the task card created in the third party application.

Select the “View AMM Reference” link at the bottom of the page, to view the details of aircraft maintenance manual for the task.
Editing standard procedure details – An overview
This page enables you to modify the details of the selected standard procedure. Details such as the standard procedure description, status, estimated elapsed time, estimated man hours, applicability, type and task details can be modified. You can also specify whether the relationship must be resolved amongst the tasks, if any of the tasks included in the standard procedure is deleted in the multiline. The system updates the details of the standard procedure and sets the “Last Modified Date” to the server date.
Create Task.
Generate sequence number for tasks belonging to the standard procedure
If a task included in standard procedure is deleted, you can specify whether to associate a “Finish - Start relationship” for the corresponding preceding and succeeding tasks.
Go to “Edit Standard Procedure Information” page.
Check the “Resolve Relationship” box to associate “Finish – Start” relationship for the corresponding preceding and succeding task.
Generate sequence number for tasks belonging to the standard procedure
You have the option of entering the sequence number or generating the sequence number automatically for the various tasks in the multiline.
To enter the sequence number manually, enter the “Seq #” field in the “Task Details” multiline.
To generate the sequence number automatically, leave the “Seq #” field blank in all the rows in the multiline.
The system automatically assigns a sequence number to each of them, in the order in which they are entered in the multiline, on clicking the “Create Standard Procedure” pushbutton.
If you wish to insert sub tasks in the multiline and assign sequence number for them, click the “Re - Number” pushbutton to rearrange the existing rows in the ascending order of the sequence number. The system regenerates the sequence number in multiples of five, thereby enabling you to specify the sequence number for the newly added tasks.
