On Authorization, the task status is changed to “Authorized” and the revision number of the task is incremented by +1.
The system performs the following on authoring the task.
If the process parameter “Automatic update of Task-Part effectivity based on Repair Scheme Definition” is set as ‘1’ in the “Define process Entities” activity of the “Common Master” business component, then the system automatically updates the effectivity list of the child Task with the Position Part # and its alternate Part # if they do not exist already.
Inactivates all the previous revisions of the task, if the “Inactivate previous revisions?” check box is selected.
For the Task - Base Aircraft Model combination, the system updates the effectivity changes corresponding to the latest revision in the maintenance programs.
Updates the schedule changes for a task to AMP / CMP, only if the Schedule Type selected in the current page matches with the Schedule Type for the task in the AMP / CMP.
When you modify the task details in the “Maintain Activated Task” page, the system updates the modified schedule details to AMP / CMP, only after the task schedules are modified in the “Edit Schedule Information” page.
When you authorize the task in the “Authorize Tasks” page, the system updates the modified schedule details to AMP / CMP, even if the task schedules are not modified in the “Edit Schedule Information” page.
When a new parameter is added for the task, the system updates the parameter details to the AMP, CMP, Model Program and Part Program, only if the added parameter is defined for the effective aircraft, component, model and part, respectively.
The system does not update the schedule changes for task to:
AMP, if the current status of the Aircraft Reg # is ‘Frozen” as defined in the “Aircraft” business component.
CMP, if the component is attached to the Aircraft Reg # whose current status is “Frozen” as defined in the “Aircraft” business component.
If 'Maint. Program Modification’ is set as “Allowed” in the “Set Options” page of the “Maintenance Task” business component and if the task available in the Aircraft / Component Program with Escalation Ref # is inactivated, the system deletes the task from the pending tray, if the Line Status of the task is updated as “Cancelled” as shown in the below table.
Scenario |
Escalation Status of task |
Line Status of inactivated task |
Only one task is available against the Escalation Ref # |

The system deletes all the tasks whose Line Status is updated as “Cancelled”, from the pending tray.
The system displays alert messages for following instances:
If the Computed NSD / NSV is overdue for some task(s).
When there is a mismatch in ‘Schedule Type’ between effective programs and the current page.
If the added parameters are not identified for the effective Models / Parts / Aircrafts / Components.
When Schedules are not updated for programs of component(s) attached to frozen aircraft or for .programs of frozen aircraft.
When Schedules are not updated for component program(s) having position based schedules.
Computes and updates the NSD / NSV for the tasks. Refer to the section "Scenario-wise illustration of NSD and NSV".
Note: On modification of interval or threshold, Next Schedule Date / Next Schedule Value is not recomputed, if there exist an open escalation for a task.
On re-baseline of Last Performed Date (LPD) / Last Performed Value (LPV), on change of interval, Next Schedule Date / value must be computed based on re-baselined LPD / LPV.
Refer to the following sections for more details:
Note: You cannot authorize a task, if the WBS code for the task has the process parameter "Repair Scheme" set as ‘1’ and the repair scheme has not been defined for the task. It is mandatory for the task to have a repair scheme, if "Repair Scheme" for the WBS code is set as ‘1’. Additionally, WBS code of the task you want to authorize must have process parameter WBS level? set as “Root/Intermediate” and “Allow Master Sequence Control definition?” set as 'Yes'.
Authorizing related tasks
If you have selected the “Authorize Related Tasks” check box, the system authorizes related tasks in addition to the primary task. However, if any related task has the WBS code with the process parameter "Repair Scheme" set as ‘1’, the system will authorize the related task only if a repair scheme exists for the task. It is mandatory for the related task to have a repair scheme as it is for the primary task, if "Repair Scheme" for the WBS code is set as ‘1’ in the Common Masters component.
Updating sequence control
On authorization, parts for which the task is effective are mapped to the sequence control # to which the task is mapped.
