Precluding work units – An overview

Edit Maintenance Program - A summary of the activity

The execution of certain work units becomes unnecessary due to the execution of a higher-level maintenance activity. For example, a work unit (W01) for the inspection of a component becomes unnecessary, if there is a work unit (W02) in a visit package for the overhaul of the same component. In such situations, to prevent wastage of time, resource and redundancy in the maintenance activity, the work unit (W01) is precluded against the work unit (W02). The precluded work unit (W01) will not be performed.
