Specifying additional work units for the work packages in an aircraft maintenance program

This page allows you to specify additional work units for the work packages in a specific aircraft maintenance program. Tell me more.
Select the “Expand Work Scope” link at the bottom of the “Edit Aircraft Specific Maintenance Program” page.
The “Aircraft Exceptions: Additional Work Unit” page appears.
The system displays the following details in the “Aircraft Details” group box:
Aircraft Reg # |
The registration number of the aircraft that is associated to the program. |
Aircraft Model # |
The aircraft model to which the aircraft belongs. |
Sub Fleet # |
The sub fleet number to which the aircraft is a part of. |
The system displays the following fields in the “Maintenance Program Information” group box:
Maintenance Program # |
The maintenance program to which the aircraft is associated. |
Revision # |
The revision number of the program. The system retrieves the latest revision that is in “Active” or “Fresh” status. |
Program Desc |
The description of the program. |
Zoom facility available |

Status |
The status of the program, which can be “Fresh” or “Active”. |
Enter the following fields in the “Work Package Details” group box:
Work Package # |
Use the drop-down list box to select the work package for which additional work units must be specified. The system lists all the work packages that are specified for the maintenance program associated to the aircraft. |
Note: If the work package selected is a component work package, ensure that all the tasks and standard procedures constituting the work package are valid and set with applicability as “Component” in the “Maintenance Task” business component.
Click the “Get Details” pushbutton.
The system displays this field on clicking the “Get Details” pushbutton:

Primary Work Center # |
The primary work center in which the work package must be executed. |
Enter the following fields in the “Additional Work Units” multiline:
Seq # |
The sequence in which the work unit should be performed in the work package (Integer). Ensure that the sequence number is positive and unique in the multiline. |
If you leave the sequence number blank, the system automatically assigns a sequence number to each of the work units, in the order in which they are entered in the multiline, on clicking the “Edit Work Package” pushbutton. Ensure that you do not leave it blank for any of the work units occurring in between. |

Work Unit # |
The task or standard procedure, to be performed as part of the work package (Alphanumeric, 30). The task or the standard procedure must have already been defined in the “Create Task” or the “Create Standard Procedure” activities of the “Maintenance Task” business component and for the primary aircraft model specified in the “Primary Aircraft Model #” field. In addition, the task and the standard procedure should be in the “Active” status with respect to the primary model that is selected in the “Primary Model #” field. If the sequence, work center and the priority values are specified in the multiline, data entry in this field is mandatory. Help facility available. |
Work Unit Type |
Use the drop-down list box to modify the type of the work unit, which could be “Task” or “Standard Procedure”. |
Work Center # |
The work center where the work unit must be performed (Alphanumeric, 30). The work center should have already been defined in the “Create Work Center” activity of the “Work Center” business component and should be in “Active” status. Help facility available |
The system displays the following fields:
Est. Man Hrs. |
The total man-hours estimated for executing the work unit. |
Time Unit |
Use the drop-down list box to specify the unit of measurement for the time allotted for the work unit. The time unit could be “Minutes”, ”Hours” or “Days”. |
Est. Time |
The time estimated for completing the task or standard procedure (Decimal). Mandatory. This value must be positive. |
Enter the following fields:
EO# |
The engineering order as a part of which the work unit was defined (Alphanumeric, 40). The engineering order must have been defined in the “Create Engineering Order” activity of the "Engineering Order” business component and must be in the "Released” status. |
Revision # |
The revision number of the engineering order (Alphanumeric, 40). |
Priority |
Use the drop-down list box to attach a priority to the work unit. The system lists all the priority descriptions that are in “Active” status, created in the “Create Priority Numbers” activity of the “Common Master” business component. |
Mandatory ? |
Use the drop-down list box and set the field to “Yes” to indicate that the execution of the work unit is mandatory in the work package. |
Other References |
Any other references based on which the work unit is specified for the work package (Alphanumeric, 255). |
The system fills in the following fields on clicking the “Edit Work Package” pushbutton:

Work Center Description |
The description of the work center. |
Check the box in the multiline to mark the work unit for deletion.
Click Delete icon in the toolbar above the multiline to delete the selected work unit.
If you wish to insert work units in the multiline and assign sequence numbers for them, select the “Re-Number” pushbutton to rearrange the existing rows in the ascending order of the sequence number. The system regenerates the sequence number in multiples of five, thereby enabling you to specify the sequence number for the newly added work unit.
Click the “Edit Exceptions” pushbutton to update additional work units for the work package.
You can specify additional work units for the work packages in a specific aircraft maintenance program. You can select a work package in the maintenance program and add new work units to it or modify the details of the existing work units.
