Formula Builder - An Overview

Transportation industry, especially aviation requires that the values of various attributes such as “Running Hours”, “Cycles” etc. of the operating assets be tracked for the purpose of usage based maintenance, reliability studies and replacement analysis. While some of these attributes (parameters) are independent others are dependent on certain other parameters.

The “Formula Builder” business component can be used to define the relationship between a reference parameter and one or more participating parameters. While the participating parameters (the aircraft and component parameters) are defined in the respective business component, the relationship between them, in terms of mathematical expressions can be defined using “Formula Builder” business component. This relationship definition helps in automatically calculating the value of an associated entity, based on the values of the input parameters.
