Engineering Service Request - An overview

The maintenance activities on the aircraft and its components need to be executed as per the approved maintenance program – any deviation to the laid down procedures or adoption of new procedures requires the approval of the engineering cell and in some cases, that of the regulatory authorities also.

During trouble shooting on a snag reported or actual maintenance work execution, the maintenance personnel can encounter problems whose resolution mechanisms are not clearly stated in the prescribed procedures. The engineering cell extends support to the maintenance execution centers by providing clarifications or suggests suitable course of action, in such instances. Engineering Service Requests (E S Requests) forms the vehicle of communication of such clarification requests by the field, to the respective engineering cell
