Basics of using a typical web page

Using Online Help

This page allows you to retrieve the model or aircraft configuration details. And you can select the twin or dependent position code and part. You can carry out the search based on the part number, the parent part number, ATA chapter to which the position code is associated, position code or the level code. Details such as the position code, part number fitted to the position code, position code status and its type are displayed. The level at which the part number and the position code occur in the aircraft configuration hierarchy is also displayed in the multiline. Refer Figure 1 for more details. The ATA chapter, zone, position formula to which the position code is associated is also displayed.

The “Help on Configuration Information” page appears.

The system displays the following fields in the “Parent Details” group box:

Aircraft Model #

The number identifying the aircraft model.

Aircraft Reg #

The aircraft registration number for which the configuration details are displayed.

Configuration Class

The configuration class associated to the model or aircraft registration number.

Revision #

The revision number of the model or aircraft configuration.

Component #

The number identifying the component.

Part #

The part number that can be fitted in the position code.

Config. Status

The status of the model or aircraft configuration, which could be one of the following:

  • Fresh – When the model or aircraft configuration is created or modified.

  • Active – When the model or aircraft configuration has been approved using the “Approve Model & Aircraft Configuration” activity.

  • Revised – Indicates that the model or aircraft configuration details have been baselined for the revision number.

Note: The system retrieves aircraft configuration details if the aircraft model and aircraft registration number alone is displayed otherwise the system retrieves the model configuration details.

Base Part #

The part number for which the position code details are to be retrieved (Alphanumeric, 40). You can enter the number in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all the position codes to which this part is associated.

NHA

The parent part number of the position code and the associated part, which is otherwise called the next higher assembly (Alphanumeric, 40). You can enter the number in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all the position codes belonging to the NHA, as defined in the part configuration hierarchy. For more details on defining part configuration hierarchy, refer the topic “Updating part configuration information – An overview”.

ATA #

The ATA chapter for which the position code details are to be retrieved (Alphanumeric, 16). You can enter the number in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all the position codes that are associated to the ATA chapter.

Position Code

The position code for which the details are to be retrieved (Alphanumeric, 25). You can enter the number in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all the position codes, which are similar to the values entered here.

Display Level

Use the drop-down list box to select the level code of the part number and position code combination, for which the configuration details are to be retrieved. The system lists all the levels of the aircraft configuration in the drop-down list box. All the position codes defined at the level selected in this field are retrieved in the multiline, along with the child position codes.

Leave this field blank to retrieve all possible level codes for the specified part number and position code combination.

Display Options

Check one of the following boxes to display the configuration details.

  • Interchangeable Parts - Check this box to display the configuration details of the interchangeable parts also.

  • Piece Parts – Check this box to display the configuration details of the piece parts also.

Attachment Status

Use the drop-down list box to retrieve positions based on the attachment status. The drop-down list box displays Attached and Removed. Select Attached to retrieved positions that are not empty. Contrarily, select Removed to retrieve empty positions.
