Using Online Help

You can select a deferral category for modification in this page. You can enter the deferral category code directly or search for it. The search criteria would be the deferral category code, status, limit type and limit basis. The system displays the deferral categories that match the search criteria specified.

The “Select Deferral Category” page appears.

Deferral Category

The code identifying deferral category that you wish to modify (Alphanumeric, 30).

Deferral Category

The code identifying deferral category that you wish to modify (Alphanumeric, 30). You can enter the deferral category code in full or specify it partially using the “*” character.

Status

Use the drop-down list box to specify the status of the deferral category. The system lists the options “Active” and “Inactive”. Leave the field blank to retrieve the deferral categories irrespective of the status. The  system leaves this field blank by default.

Limit Type

Use the drop-down list box to select the type of deferral limit associated to a  deferral category based on which the MEL/CDL Item number gets deferred. This could be  "Time Limited", "Usage  Limited" or "Time and Usage Limited". The system retrieves the deferral categories with the Limit type specified here. The system leaves this field blank by default.

Limit Basis

Use the drop-down list box to specify the limit basis for the time and usage based deferral. The system lists the options “Whichever is earlier” and “Whichever is later”. The system retrieves the  deferral categories with the limit basis specified here. The system leaves this field blank by default.

The system displays the following fields in the “Search Results” multiline:

Deferral Category

The  deferral category defined in the system.

Deferral Category Desc.

The textual description of the  deferral category.

Limit Type

The type of deferral limit associated to a deferral category based on which the MEL/CDL Item number gets deferred. This could be, "Time  Limited", "Usage  Limited" or "Time and Usage Limited".

Limit Basis

The limit basis for the time based deferral. The system displays one of the options “Whichever is earlier” and “Whichever is later”.

Status

The status of the  deferral category, which could be “Active” or “Inactive”.
