Editing configuration class details
This page allows you to modify the details of the selected configuration class. Tell me more
Select the hyperlinked configuration class number in the multiline of the “Select Configuration Class” page.
The “Edit Configuration Class” page appears.
The system displays the following:
Date Format |
The format in which the date field is displayed. This format is displayed from the "User Preferences" business component based on the login user id. In case the format is not defined, the system displays the date format from the "Enterprise Modeling" business component by default. |
The system displays the following field in the “Configuration Class Details” group box:
Configuration Class |
The configuration class for which the details are to be modified. |
Enter the following fields in the “Configuration Class Details” group box:
Status |
Use the drop-down list box to modify the status of the configuration class, to either “Active” or “Inactive”. |
Set the status as “Inactive” if you wish to disable this configuration class from future reference in other activities. The system sets this field to “Active” by default. |

Description |
The modified textual description of the configuration class (Alphanumeric, 150). |
Enter the following fields in the “Configuration Class Attributes” group box to modify the details of the configuration class:
ETOP |
Click this box if you wish to apply ETOP configuration for the configuration class. Leave this box unchecked if you do not wish to apply ETOP configuration for the configuration class. |

Aircraft Group # |
Use the drop-down list box to modify the category of the aircraft group that you wish to attach to the configuration class. The system displays all the quick codes that are of type “Aircraft Group Category” and in “Active” status, as defined in the “Create Quick Codes” activity of the “Aircraft” business component. |

Aircraft Type |
Use the drop-down list box to modify the type of the aircraft that you wish to attach to the configuration class. The system displays all the quick codes that are of type “Aircraft Type” and in “Active” status, as defined in the “Create Quick Codes” activity of the “Aircraft” business component. |

No. of Engines |
The number of engines that you wish to define for the configuration class (Integer). Ensure that the value entered in this field is positive. |

No. of APUs |
The number of auxiliary power units that you wish to define for the configuration class (Integer). Ensure that the value entered in this field is positive. |

Usage Type |
Use the drop-down list box to modify the type of usage of the aircraft that you wish to attach to the configuration class. The system displays all the quick codes that are of type “Usage Type” and in “Active” status, as defined in the “Create Quick Codes” activity of the “Aircraft” business component. |

Landing Gear Type |
Use the drop-down list box to select the type of the landing gear for the configuration class. The system provides the options, “Bogie Beam” and “Tri-cycle”. |

User Defined 1 |
Any additional detail pertaining to the configuration class (Alphanumeric, 30). |

User Defined 2 |
Any additional detail pertaining to the configuration class (Alphanumeric, 30). |

Maint. Operator # |
Use the drop-down list box to select the maintenance operator to be mapped to the configuration class. The drop-down list box displays values based on the process parameter "Allow modification of Configuration for Aircrafts mapped to other Maint. Operator codes?” as set under the entity type Aircraft Entry and the entity Aircraft in the Define Process Entities activity of Common Master.

Enter the following fields in the “Model Effectivity details” group box:
Aircraft Model # |
The aircraft model to which you wish to associate the configuration class (Alphanumeric, 20). Ensure that the model is already defined in the “Create Aircraft Model” activity and is in “Active” status. Help facility available. |
The system displays the following fields in the multiline for the aircraft models to which the configuration class is already associated. If you have associated the configuration class to a new aircraft model, these fields are filled by the system only on clicking the “Edit Configuration Class” pushbutton:

The textual description of the aircraft model. |
Manufacturer # |
The manufacturer of the aircraft. |
Model Type |
The type of the aircraft model. |
Check the box in the “Select” column of the multiline to mark the aircraft model for removal from the configuration class.
Click the Delete icon in the tool bar above the multiline, to delete the aircraft models selected in the multiline.
Click the “Edit Configuration Class” pushbutton to update the modified details of the configuration class.
Note: The system updates the modified details of the configuration class. The “Last Modified Date” field is set to the current server date and the “Last Modified By” field is set to the name of the user currently logged in.
The system displays the following fields in the “Record Statistics” group box:

The name of the user who created the configuration class. |
Created date |
The date on which the configuration class was created. |
Last Modified By |
The name of the user who last modified the configuration class. |
Last Modified Date |
The date on which the configuration class was last modified. |
Editing configuration class details– An overview
You can modify the details of the selected configuration class in this page. Details such as the status and description of the configuration class can be modified. You can also modify attributes of the configuration class such as ETOP, aircraft group category, aircraft type, usage type and landing gear type are displayed along with the number of engines and APUs attached to the configuration class. This page also allows you to associate the configuration class to new aircraft models. The system updates the modified details of the configuration class, stores the name of the user who modified the details and sets the last modified date to the current server date.

Specify ETOP configuration for configuration class
You can specify whether the configuration class should be of type “ETOP” (Extended Twin Engine Operation) or not. The aircraft associated to this configuration class will inherit ETOP configuration.
Check the “ETOP” box to apply ETOP configuration for the configuration class that is being defined.
Attach aircraft group to configuration class
Set the “Aircraft Group #” drop-down list box to appropriate option to specify the category of the aircraft group which you wish to attach to the configuration class.
Attach landing gear type to configuration class
You can specify the type of the landing gear that has to be attached to the configuration class, which could be “Bogie Beam” or “Tri-Cycle”.
Set the “Landing Gear Type“ drop-down list box to appropriate option to select landing gear type for the configuration class.
Associate models to configuration class
You can associate aircraft models to the configuration class. An aircraft model can be associated to more than one configuration class.
Use the “Model Effectivity Details” multiline to specify the model that have to be associated to the configuration class.
