Defining ETOP twin position codes for model configuration

This page allows you to update the ETOP twin position code details for the model configuration. Tell me more

Select the “Edit ETOP Twin Positions” link at the bottom of the “Build Model Configuration” or the “Edit Position Attributes” page.

The “Edit ETOP Twin Positions” page appears.

The system displays the following fields in the “Model Configuration Details” group box:

Aircraft Model #	The aircraft model selected in the main page.
Revision #	The revision number of the model configuration.
Configuration Class	The configuration class to which the aircraft model is associated.
Level Code	The number identifying the level at which the reference position code occurs in the model configuration hierarchy.
Ref. Position Code	The reference position code, for which the twin position code must be defined.
Reference Part #	The part associated to the reference position code.

Note: The system lists the ETOP twin position codes that are already defined for the reference position code and the reference part number, in the multiline.

Enter the following fields in the “Twin Positions” multiline, if you wish to add twin position codes:

Twin Position Code	The position code that is parallel to the reference position code displayed in the “Ref. Position Code” field (Alphanumeric, 25). Mandatory. The position code must have already defined for the model configuration and is in “Active” status.
Part #	The part associated to the position code entered in the “Twin Position Code” field (Alphanumeric, 40). Mandatory. The part number should have already been associated to the position code in the model configuration.

The system displays the following field on clicking the “Edit ETOP Twin Positions” pushbutton:

Level Code

The level at which the twin position code and part number occurs in the model configuration hierarchy.

Note: Ensure that at least one position code is entered in the multiline. Also, the part number should be unique within the multiline.

Check the box in the “Select” column of the multiline if you wish to mark the twin position code for deletion.
Click the Delete icon in the tool bar above the multiline, to delete the twin position codes selected in the multiline.
Click the “Edit ETOP Twin Positions” pushbutton to update the twin position code details.

Note: If the twin position code identified here occurs once or occurs in more than one level in the model configuration, the system displays the position code details along with the level number. You can also delete the level, for which you do not wish to include the position code has the twin position code for the reference position code.

If the new ETOPS Twin position rules are added to or deleted from the Reference Part # - Position code, the system copies the new rules or deletes the existing rules to / from the corresponding Reference Part # - Position Code - Level Code - Configuration Class - Model combination in the Aircraft Configuration.

Note: The addition / deletion mentioned above happens only if the Model Configuration is in “Active” status and if the “Inherit Changes to Aircraft” box is checked for the Revision # in the “Build Model Configuration” page of the current business component.

Note: Attribute modifications are inherited only to the Aircraft Reg #s which are in “Active” and “Under Creation” statuses and to the Aircraft configuration which is in “Active” and “Fresh” statuses.

Defining ETOP twin position codes for model configuration – An overview

ETOP twin position codes are the position codes that are parallel to a reference position code. This rule restricts any maintenance activity being carried out simultaneously in the reference position code and the twin position code. This is required to govern the reliability of aircraft while performing ETOP.

In this page, you can enter the twin position code and the part number, for the reference position code and reference part number selected in the “Edit Position Attributes” page. The twin position code and the part number must have already been defined to the selected model configuration.

The system updates the twin position code details and stores the name of the currently logged in user and the current server date. If the twin position code occurs in more than one level in the model configuration, the system displays the position code details along with their level number. You can also delete the level in which the position code appears if you do not wish to include the position code as the twin position code.
