Modifying reference document type
This page allows you to modify reference document types that are already defined in the system. Tell me more
Select the “Edit Reference Document Type” link under the “Common Master” business component.
The “Edit Reference Document Information” page appears.
The system displays the following:
Date Format |
The format in which the date fields are displayed in this page. This format is displayed from the "User Preferences" business component based on the login user ID. In case the format is not defined, the system displays the date format from the “Enterprise Modeling” business component by default. |
Enter the following in the “Search Criteria” group box:
Status |
Use the drop-down list box to specify the status of the reference document type whose details you need to modify. It can be either “Active” or “Inactive”. The system lists all the reference document types that are in the status specified in this field. Leave this field blank, if you to wish to retrieve details of all reference document types irrespective of their status. The system sets the field blank by default. |
Applicability |
Use the drop-down list box to specify the area of applicability of the reference document type whose details you need to modify. It can be either “None”, “Aircraft”, “Engine” or “Component”. The system lists all the reference document types that have the applicability type specified in this field. Leave this field blank, if you to wish to retrieve details of all reference document types irrespective of their applicability. The system sets the field blank by default. |
Click the “Search” pushbutton to display the search details in the “Search Results” multiline.
The system displays the following in the “Search Results” multiline:
Reference Doc Type |
The reference document type whose details you need to modify. |
Enter the following:
Description |
Modify the description of the reference document type (Alphanumeric, 150). The system displays the description already defined for the corresponding reference document type by default. |
Applicability |
Use the drop-down list box and specify whether the reference document type is applicable for “Aircraft”, “Engine” or “Component”. Select “None”, if the reference document type is not applicable for any of these. The system sets the field blank by default. |
Status |
Use the drop-down list box to modify the status of the reference document type to either “Active” or “Inactive”. The system sets the field to “Active” by default. Set the status as “Inactive” if you wish to disable the reference document type from future reference in other activities. |
Maintained In Library ?

Use the drop-down list box and set the field to “Yes” if you wish to maintain the reference document in the library. Else, set the field to “No”. The system displays “No” by default. |
The system displays the following:
Created By |
The name of the user who created the reference document type. |
Created Date |
The date, in the specified date format, on which the reference document type was created. |
Last Modified By |
The name of the user who last modified the reference document type. |
Last Modified Date |
The date, in the specified date format, on which the reference document type was last modified. |
Click the “Edit Document Type” pushbutton at the bottom of the page to update the modified reference document types.
Note: The system updates the modified details and sets the “Last Modified By” field to the login user name and the “Last Modified Date” to the current server date.
