Reason #

The unique number identifying the reason for removal of a component from the aircraft (Alphanumeric, 20). Mandatory. Ensure this is an unique number across the organizational unit.

Reason Description

The textual description of the reason for removal (Alphanumeric, 255). Mandatory.

Reason Category

Use the drop-down list box to specify the reason category. The system lists all the values that are defined for the “Reason Category” attribute in the “Maintain Discrepancy /CR Attributes” activity of the “Common Masters” business component.  The system sets the field blank by default.

Reliability Analysis?

Use the drop -down list box to specify whether the delay code requires reliability analysis or not. The system lists the options “Required” and “Not Required”.

The reliability analysis generates the reliability report in the “Reliability Analysis” business component. Airlines use reliability analysis for reducing the maintenance and inventory cost and for regulatory requirement.

The system sets the field to “Not Required” by default.

Removal Type

Use the drop- down list box to specify the type of removal. The system lists the following options:

  • “Scheduled” - Indicates that the component is removed to carry out preventive maintenance operations such as lubrication, or the component removal is a scheduled removal. The schedules can be based on intervals, consumptions or predictive triggers.

  • “Unscheduled” - Indicates that the component is removed to carry out maintenance activity based on the outcome of equipment parameter inspections or on the breakdown of the equipment.

  • “Others” - Cases of robbery can be categorized as “Others”.

The system displays “Scheduled” by default.

Basic Removal

Use the drop -down list box to specify whether the component is removed for a problem in the same component or not. The system lists the following options:

  • “Yes” – When the component is removed due to a problem in the same component.

  • “No” – When the component is removed for accessibility reasons, that is, to enable the removal of another component.

The system displays “Yes” by default.

Note: The system creates the reasons for removal and sets the status as “Active”. The system sets the “Created by” field to the name of the login user and “Created Date” field to the current server date.
