Shortclosing a physical inventory plan
This page enables you to shortclose a physical inventory plan.
Select the “Shortclose Physical Inventory Plan” link under the “Physical Inventory & Cycle Count” business component.
The “ShortClose Physical Inventory Plan” page appears.
Enter the following fields in the “Search Criteria” group box, to search for the PI plan:
PI Plan# |
The number that identifies the PI plan, which you wish to shortclose. (Alphanumeric, 40). You can enter the number in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all the PI plans whose numbers are similar to the value specified here. |
User Status |
Use the drop-down list box to select the user-defined status of the PI plan. The system lists all the “Active” quick codes of type “User Status” as defined in the “Create Quick Codes” activity of the current business component. The system sets the field blank by default. |
Plan Category |
Use the drop-down list to select the category to which the PI plan belongs. The system lists all the “Active” quick codes of type “Plan Category” as defined in the “Create Quick Codes” activity of the current business component. The system sets the field blank by default. |
Planned By |
The name of the user who created the physical inventory plan you wish to short close (Alphanumeric, 30). You can enter the number in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all the PI plans in which the planner name is similar to the value specified here. Leave this field blank to retrieve all the PI plans irrespective of the planner name. |
Warehouse # |
Use the drop-down list box to select the warehouse for which the PI plan was generated. If you are working in the Main base, the drop-down list box lists those Active warehouses defined in the Storage Administration component, which are currently not offline and allow “Physical Inventory” transactions. Alternatively, if you are working in a Field base, the drop-down list box displays those Active warehouses mapped to the offline area that allow “Physical Inventory” transactions. The system retrieves all the PI plans for the warehouse specified here. Leave this field blank to retrieve all the PI plans irrespective of the warehouse. |
WH – Zone # |
The number that identifies the zone for which the PI plan was generated (Alphanumeric, 10). You can enter the number in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all the PI plans in which the zone numbers are similar to the value specified here. Leave this field blank to retrieve all the PI plans irrespective of the zone number. |
Part # |
The number that identifies the part (Alphanumeric, 40). You can enter the number in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all the PI plans in which the part numbers are similar to the value specified here. Leave this field blank to retrieve all the PI plans irrespective of the part number. |
Note: The system retrieves all the PI plans, which are in “Generated” status.
Click the “Search” pushbutton, to search for the PI plan.
The system displays the following fields in the “Search Results” multiline:

Enter the following:
Remarks |
Any additional remarks pertaining to short closing of the PI plan (Alphanumeric, 255). Mandatory. |
Check the box in the “Select” column of the multiline, to select the PI plan for short closing.
Click the “ShortClose Physical Inventory Plan” pushbutton, to short close the selected PI plan.
The system changes the status as “ShortClosed”. A short closed PI plan will not be available for further transaction in other activities. You can attach the parts associated with the short closed plan with other plans.
Note: Before short closing, the system ensures that the user has the necessary access rights defined in the “Storage Administration” business component for the selected warehouse,.
On shortclosing the PI plan, the tag line items in the “Generated” status will be updated to “Shortclosed” status.
Note: Tags having atleast one line item with a “Shortclosed” status will acquire a document level status of “Short closed”.
You can short close a PI plan in which all the count and recount results are updated and authorized.
Enter the search criteria, to search for the PI plan.
Click the “Search” pushbutton.
Select the PI plan that you need to shortclose.
Click the “ShortClose Physical Inventory Plan” pushbutton, to shortclose the selected PI plan.
