Modifying the certificate and parameter details of the counted part in a physical inventory plan
This page allows you to record the parameter and certificate details for a counted part associated with the PI plan. Tell me more.
Select the “Edit Certificate & Parameter Information” link in the “Record Serial / Lot Information” page.
The “Edit Certificate & Parameter Information” page appears.
The system displays the following:
Date Format |
The format in which the date fields are displayed in this page. This format is displayed from the "User Preferences" business component based on the login user ID. In case the format is not defined, the system displays the date format from the “Enterprise Modeling” business component by default. |
The system displays the following in the “Plan Level Details” group box:
PI Plan # |
The number identifying the physical inventory plan. |
Plan Description |
The textual description of the PI Plan. |
Warehouse # |
The number indicating the warehouse for which the PI plan is created. |
Description |
The textual description of the warehouse. |
Enter the following in the “Part Selection” group box:
Line # |
Use the drop-down list box to select the Line # of the part that is “Serial Controlled” or “Serial & Lot Controlled” or “Lot Controlled” for the specified PI Plan to enter the parameter and certificate details. |
Note: The system retrieves only those line numbers for which the certificate information is updated as “Recorded” or “Not Recorded” in the “Record Serial# / Lot # Information” page.
Click the “Get Details” pushbutton to retrieve the part details.
The system displays the following in the “Part Details” group box:

The number identifying the part. |
Part Description |
The textual description of the part. |
Serial # |
The number identifying the serial number of the part. |
Lot # |
The number identifying the lot number of the part. |
Manufacturer Serial # |
The serial number issued by the manufacturer. |
Manufacturer Lot # |
The lot number issued by the manufacturer. |
Part Control Type |
The type of part control, which could be “Serial controlled” or “Lot controlled” or “Serial & Lot Controlled”. |
Enter the following:
Condition |
Use the drop-down list box to select the condition of part, which could be “New”, “Overhauled”, “Serviceable”, “Unserviceable” or “Phased Out”. The system leaves the field blank by default. Ensure that this field is entered for a part of type “Component”, which is “Serial Controlled” or “Serial & Lot Controlled”. |
Note: This field can be left blank if the part is “Shelf Life Controlled”.
Enter the following in the “Certificate Details” group box:
Certificate Type |
Use the drop down list box to specify the certificate type for the part. The system lists all the ‘active’ certificate types defined in the “Create Certificate Type” activity of the “Logistics Common Master” business component. For example, you can define certificate types such as “FAA8130-8” or “JAA Form One”. |
§ FAA8130-8 – Indicates that the certificate has been issued by agencies affiliated to the Federal Aviation Administration, USA. |

§ JAA Form One – Indicates that the certificate has been issued by agencies affiliated to the Joint Aviation Administration, Europe. The system leaves the field blank by default. |

Certificate Date |
The date on which the certificate was issued (Date Format). The certificate date must be in the same format as displayed in the “Date Format” field. Ensure that the certificate date is earlier than or the same as the current date. |
Certificate # |
The number identifying the certificate (Alphanumeric, 40). |
Authorization # |
The number identifying the authorization of the part (Alphanumeric, 40). |
Note: It is mandatory to enter either the “Certificate #” or the “Authorization #” field, if an option is selected in the “Certificate Type” field.
System Tracking Ref # |
A unique number, which can be used to track the certification details of the part (Alphanumeric, 40). Ensure that this field is entered for a part of type “Component”. |
Note: If the part is “Shelf Life controlled”, then “System Tracking Ref #” should be left blank.
Warranty Lapse Date |
The date on which the warranty of the part lapses (Date Format). Ensure that this field is not left blank, if the “Warranty Y/N” field in the multiline is displayed as “Yes”. This date must be later than the current date. |
Note: If the part is “Shelf Life Controlled”, only “Certificate Details” must be entered.
Note: If the part is of type other than “Component”, the “Condition”, “System Tracking Ref #” and “Warranty Lapse Date” fields need not be entered.
The system displays the following in the “Parameter Details” multiline:
Note: The system retrieves all the consumption parameters, the corresponding UOM details and the warranty details if any, associated with the part, from the “Aircraft” business component.

Note: The parameter value can be in fractions, only if the UOM has been set as ”yes” for “Fractions Allowed” in the “Create UOM” activity of the “Unit of Measurement Administration” business component.
Enter the following fields in the “Parameter Details” multiline:
Note: For a part of type “Component”, the “Parameter Details” must be entered.
Note: Ensure that all the parameter values are left blank, if the part condition is “New”.
Since New |
Indicates the time, in cycles or hours, if the part is new or if the part has been acquired from another organization that has held the part in stock without using it (Decimal). |
Note: Ensure that for a part in “Overhauled” condition, all parameter values other than “Since New” are set to zero.
Since Overhaul |
Indicates the time, in flying hours or flying cycles, since the part has undergone a overhauling action. (Decimal). |
Since Repair |
The cumulative flying hours or flying cycles of the component, since its last repair in the shop (Decimal). |
Since Inspection |
The cumulative flying hours or flying cycles of the component, since its last inspection in the shop (Decimal). |
Since Last Shop Visit |
The cumulative flying hours or flying cycles of the component, since its last visit to the shop for maintenance (Decimal). |
Note: If the part condition is “Serviceable” or “Unserviceable”, ensure that the parameter values for “Since New”, “Since Overhaul”, “Since Repair”, “Since Last Shop Visit” and “Since Inspection” are equal to or greater than zero.
If the part condition is “Serviceable” or “Unserviceable”, then “Since New” value should be greater than or equal to “Since Overhaul”, and “Since Overhaul” value should be greater than or equal to “Since Repair”, “Since Last Shop Visit” and “Since Inspection” values.
Note: Ensure that at least one record is entered in the multiline, if the part condition is other than “New” or “Phased Out”.
The system displays the following:
Warranty Y/N |
The system displays “Yes” or “No” to indicate whether the part is covered under warranty or not, based on the warranty set for the parameters in the “Aircraft” business component. |
Enter the following:
Warranty Value |
The value of the warranty (Decimal). Ensure that this field is not left blank, if “Warranty Y/N” field is “Yes”. |
Note: Warranty value can be in fractions, only if the UOM of the parameter allows fractions.
Enter the following in the "Attachments" group box:
File Name |
The name of the file used as document reference (Alphanumeric, 50). |
Select the “View File” link provided along side to view the reference document details.
Click the “Edit Certificate & Parameter Information” pushbutton, to update the certificate and parameter values.
The system ensures that all the details are specified, for the parameters for which “Parameter Update” is set as “Mandatory” in the “Create Component Record” activity of the “Aircraft“ business component.
The system stores the updated condition, certificate and parameter details of the part. The system updates the “Certificate Information” field in the “Record Serial# / Lot # Information” page as “Recorded”.

You can specify the certification type associated with the part.
Set the appropriate option in the “Certificate Type” field to specify the certificate type to which the part conforms.

You can specify the condition of the part that is “Serial Controlled” or Serial & Lot controlled" for which the parameter details are recorded.
Set the “Condition” field to “New”, to record the parameter values for a new part.
Set the “Condition” field to “Overhaul”, to record the parameter values for an overhauled part.
Set the “Condition” field to “Serviceable”, to record the parameter values for a serviceable part.
Set the “Condition” field to “Unserviceable”, to record the parameter values for an unserviceable part.
Set the “Condition” field to “Phased Out”, to record the parameter values for a phased out part.
This page allows you to record the parameter and certificate details for a counted part associated with the PI plan. You can select the line number of the physical inventory plan that contains the counted part for which the certificate and parameter details must be entered.
Note: You can record the certificate and parameter information, only if the part is “Shelf Life Controlled” or of part type “Component”.
You can record the certificate details, such as, the certificate type, date of certification, certification number, authorization number, system tracking reference number, and the warranty lapse date for the selected serial number or lot number of a part.
Note: If the part is “Shelf Life Controlled”, only “Certificate Details” must be entered.
You can also update parameter values, such as the time or cycle since the component was manufactured or underwent maintenance like overhaul, repair and inspection. You can modify the attributes of a component, such as CSO /TSO, CSI / TSI, CSR /TSR (Cycles or Time Since Overhaul, Inspection, Repair), through which the life and maintenance of a component is monitored. You can modify these maintenance parameter values for the part.
