Unfreezing a storage area
This page allows you to unfreeze a storage location. Tell me more
Select the “Unfreeze Parts” link under the “Physical Inventory & Cycle Count” business component.
The “Unfreeze Storage Area” page appears.
Enter the following fields in the “Search Criteria” group box to retrieve warehouses/zones/bins that you wish to unfreeze.
Warehouse # |
Use the drop-down list box to select the warehouse that you wish to unfreeze. If you are working in the Main base, the drop-down list box lists those Active warehouses defined in the Storage Administration component, which are currently not offline and allow “Physical Inventory” transactions. Alternatively, if you are working in a Field base, the drop-down list box displays those Active warehouses mapped to the offline area that allow “Physical Inventory” transactions. |
WH – Zone # |
The number that identifies the zone in the warehouse (Alphanumeric, 15). You can enter the number in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all the zones whose number is similar to the value specified here. Leave this field to blank to retrieve all the warehouses irrespective of the zone number. |
Part # |
The number that identifies the part (Alphanumeric, 15). You can enter the number in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all the zones, in which the part specified here is stored. Leave this field to blank to retrieve all the zones irrespective of the part number. |
Bin # |
To unfreeze a specific bin in the zone of a warehouse, enter the number that identifies the bin. You can enter the number in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves the warehouses in which the bins with similar numbers have been frozen. However, leave this field blank to retrieve those warehouses that are frozen irrespective of the bin number. |
Note: Leave all the search fields blank, to retrieve all the warehouses and zones in the system.
Click the “Search” pushbutton, to search for the warehouse.
The system displays the following fields in the “Frozen Storage Location Details” multiline:

The textual description of the warehouse. |
WH – Zone # |
The number that identifies the zone in the warehouse. |
Document Type |
The type of document, which could be “Cycle Count” or “Physical Inventory”. |

The number that identifies the document. |
Document Status |
The status of the document. |
Document Description |
The textual description of the document. |
Date of Freezing |
The date on which the warehouse was frozen. |
Check the box in the “Select” column of the multiline, to select the warehouse for unfreezing.
Click the “Unfreeze Storage Area” pushbutton, to unfreeze the selected warehouse.
The system unfreezes the selected warehouse and all the frozen parts in the warehouse.
To proceed, carry out the following
Click the hyperlinked warehouse number, to unfreeze selective parts in the warehouse.
You can unfreeze all the parts in a storage area. When you unfreeze a warehouse, the warehouse and all the frozen parts in the warehouse are released.
Enter the search criteria.
Click the “Search” pushbutton, to search for the warehouse.
Select the warehouse that you wish to unfreeze.
Click the “Unfreeze Storage Area” pushbutton, to unfreeze the selected warehouse.
Unfreezing a storage area – An overview
This page allows you to unfreeze a storage location. You can search for the warehouse using the warehouse number, zone number and part number. The system retrieves all the warehouses based on the search criteria. You can select the warehouse and unfreeze it.
When you unfreeze a warehouse, the warehouse and all the frozen parts in the warehouse are unfrozen. You can resume transactions such as stock issue, stock receipt, stock transfer, stock return, stock status conversion, goods receipt and opening balance creation for the unfrozen parts and the warehouse.
