Closing a cycle count plan
This page allows you to select the cycle count plan that you wish to close. Tell me more
Select the “Close Cycle Count Plan” link under the “Physical Inventory & Cycle Count” business component.
The “Close Cycle Count Plan” page appears.
Enter the following fields in the “Search Criteria” group box, to search for the CC plan:
CC Plan # |
The number that identifies the CC plan you need to close (Alphanumeric, 40). You can enter the number in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all the CC plans with numbers similar to the value specified here. Leave this field blank to retrieve all the CC plans defined in the system. |
Class |
Use the drop-down list box to select the class to which the CC plan belongs. The system lists the classification method defined for the login organization in the “Set Cycle Count Plan Options” activity of the current business component. By default, the system displays “A” if the selected classification method is “ABC” class or “V” if the classification method selected is “VED". The system retrieves all the CC plans of the class specified here. Leave this field blank to retrieve all the CC plans irrespective of the class. |
Part Type |
Use the drop-down list box to select the type of the part for which the CC plan was generated. The system displays “Raw Material”, “Tool”, “Kit”, “Expandable”, “Component”, “Consumable” and “Miscellaneous” as options. The system retrieves all the CC plans for the part type specified here. Leave this field blank to retrieve all the CC plans irrespective of the part type. |
Part Group |
Use the drop-down list box to select the part group for which the CC plan was generated. The system displays all the valid part groups defined in the “Create Part Groups” activity of the “Part Administration” business component. The system retrieves all the CC plans for the part group specified here. Leave this field blank to retrieve all the CC plans irrespective of the part group. |
Part Category |
Use the drop-down list box to select the category of the part for which the CC plan was generated. The system displays all the “Active” quick codes of type “Part Category” as defined in the “Create Quick Codes” activity of the “Part Administration” business component. The system retrieves all the CC plans for the part category specified here. Leave this field blank to retrieve all the CC plans irrespective of the part category. |
Part # |
The number that identifies the part for which the CC plan was generated (Alphanumeric, 40). You can enter the number in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all the CC plans created for part numbers that are similar to the value specified here. Leave this field blank to retrieve all the CC plans irrespective of the part number. |
Warehouse # |
Use the drop-down list box to select the warehouse for which the cycle count plan was generated. If you are working in the Main base, the drop-down list box lists those Active warehouses defined in the Storage Administration component, which are currently not offline and allow “Cycle Count” transactions. Alternatively, if you are working in a Field base, the drop-down list box displays all Active warehouses mapped to the offline area that allow “Cycle Count” transactions. The system retrieves all the CC plans created for the warehouse specified here. Leave this field blank to retrieve all the CC plans irrespective of the warehouse. |
WH – Zone # |
The number that identifies the zone for which the CC plan was created (Alphanumeric, 10). You can enter the number in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all the CC plans in which the zone numbers are similar to the value specified here. Leave this field blank to retrieve all the CC plans irrespective of the zone number. |
Planned By |
The name of the user who planned the cycle counting activity (Alphanumeric, 30). You can enter the number in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all the CC plans in which the planner name is similar to the value specified here. Leave this field blank to retrieve all the CC plans irrespective of the planner name. |
User Status |
Use the drop-down list box to assign a user-defined status to the cycle count plan. The system lists all the “Active” quick codes defined for the user status in the “Create Quick Codes” activity of the current business component. The system sets the field blank by default. The system retrieves all the CC plans for the user status specified here. Leave this field blank to retrieve all the CC plans irrespective of the user status. |
Note: Leave all the search fields blank, to retrieve all the CC plans defined in the system.
Click the “Search” pushbutton, to search for the CC plan.
The system displays the following fields in the “Search Results” multiline:

The textual description of the CC plan. |
Class |
The classification method defined in the “Set Cycle Count Options” activity. If the selected classification method is “ABC”, the system displays “A”, “B” and “C” in this column. If the classification method is “VED”, the system displays “V”, “E” and “D”. |
Warehouse # |
The warehouse for which the CC plan was generated. |
Warehouse Description |
The textual description of the warehouse. |
Planned By |
The name of the user who generated the CC plan. |

Closing Comments |
Any additional remarks pertaining to the closing of the CC plan (Alphanumeric, 255). Mandatory. |
The system displays the following:
User Status |
The user defined status of the CC plan. |
Check the box in the “Select” column of the multiline, to select the CC plan for closing.
To view the cycle count plan details
Click the hyperlinked CC plan number, to view the CC plan before closing it.
To close cycle count plan
Click the “Close Cycle Count Plan” pushbutton, to close the selected CC plan.
The system closes the CC plan and sets the status as “Closed”. A closed CC plan will not be available for further transaction in other activities. After closing a CC plan, the parts from the plan can be associated to other CC plans.
The Cycle Count Plan can be closed only under the following conditions:
The CC sheets derived directly from this CC plan must be in the ”Closed”, ”Short Closed” or “Canceled” status.
The CC sheet based on overdue ,which has the parts included from this plan, should have count results authorized (for the parts which needs stock correction)
You can search and close the CC plan that is already defined in the system.
Enter the filter criteria, to search for the CC plan.
Click the “Search” pushbutton.
Select the CC plan that you need to close.
Click the “Close Cycle Count Plan” pushbutton, to close the selected CC plan.
Closing a cycle count plan – An overview
This page allows you to select the cycle count plan that you wish to close. You can carry out a search based on the plan number, class, part type, part group, part category, part number, warehouse number, zone number and the planner of the CC plan. The system retrieves all the cycle count plans based on the search criteria.
The system retrieves only those CC plans for which at least one CC sheet has been generated. If the cycle count sheet is based on the selected CC plan, then the CC sheet should be in the “Closed”, “ShortClosed” or “Canceled” status. If some of the parts in the count sheet is from the selected CC plan, then the count results for the part should be “Authorized”.
