Manage Part Effectivity– A summary of the activity

Aircraft - An overview

What you can do in this activity

This activity enables you to record/update the effectivity of parts. Effectivity of a part is set for aircraft model/aircraft/part/component. Effectivity defines the compatibility of a part for an aircraft/component.

To make a part effective to all aircraft models/aircraft/parts/components, do not define effectivity for the part in this activity.

Setting effectivity of a part using the Effectivity Status flag: You can set the effectivity of a part by choosing one of the following statuses as explained below:

The effectivity definition that you define in this activity forms the basis for attachment of parts during component replacement and aircraft maintenance

Rules governing effectivity definition of parts

Note: The above rules hold good even when a part is identified by its manufacturer part # and manufacturer #.

Record/update effectivity details of parts

You can associate a part to one of the following: NHA part, NHA component, aircraft model or aircraft.

4 To make a part effective/ineffective for aircraft model/aircraft/part/component,

Set the Effectivity Status to “Effective”

4 To make a part ineffective for any aircraft model/aircraft/part/component

Set the Effectivity Status to “Not Effective”.

4  To make a part conditional effective for any aircraft model/aircraft/part/component

Set the Effectivity Status to “Conditional Effective”.

Provide effectivity notes on the conditions under which the part is effective to the aircraft model/aircraft/part/component

4 To make a part effective/ineffective for a NHA component

Specify the NHA part # and NHA serial # that identifies the component and Effectivity Status as well.
