Viewing consumption and range parameter information for component

Unified Glossary

Basics of using a typical web page

Using Online Help

This page allows you to view the consumption and range parameters that are defined for the component. Tell me more.

The “View Consumption & Range Parameters” page appears.

Date & Time Format

The format in which the date and time fields appear in this page. This format is displayed from the "User Preferences" business component based on the login user ID. In case the format is not defined, the system displays the date and time format from the “Enterprise Modeling” business component by default.

The system displays the following in the “Component Details” group box:

Component #

The component selected in the main page, for which the consumption and range parameters are listed.

Part #

The part to which the component belongs.

Note

Mfr. Part #

The manufacturer part number of the component.

Mfr. #

The manufacturer number of the component.

Note

Serial #

The serial number of the component.

Part Description

The textual description of the part.

Since Manufacturing

The date of manufacturing of the component and the number of days elapsed since the date of manufacture.

A/c On/Off Details

Indicates if the component is currently attached to or removed from an aircraft; and the number of days elapsed since the component was attached to or removed from an aircraft.

Attached/Removed A/c Reg #

The aircraft to which the component was last attached or the aircraft from which the component was last removed for replacement/maintenance.

The system displays the following fields in the “Parameter Details” group box:

Parameter

The parameter associated to the component.

UOM

The unit of measurement of the parameter.

Parameter Type

The type of the parameter which can be “Consumption” or “Range”.

Life Parameter

The system displays “Yes” if the consumption parameter has been identified as the life parameter. A life parameter is a consumption parameter that indicates the life of the component.

Parameter Source

The source from which the parameter must be updated. The source can be one of the following:

  • Flight Log - Indicates that the parameter value has to be updated from the flight log.

  • Manual - Indicates that the parameter value has to be updated manually.

  • Parent - Indicates that the parameter value has to be updated from the parameter source defined for the parent component.

  • Calculated - indicates that the parameter value is updated based on the formula associated to the parameter. This formula depicts the mathematical relationship of the parameter with the participating parameters. When one or all the participating parameters are updated, the formula based parameter will be automatically updated.

Initialized Value

The initialized value of the parameter.

The system displays “Unknown”, if the “Since New” value is not known. Else, the system displays the “Since New” value as the initialized value.

Present Value

The present value of the parameter.

As Of Date

The date on which the parameter value was recorded.

As Of Time

The time at which the parameter value was recorded.

Range: From

The minimum number in the range of values for a range parameter.

Range:To

The maximum number in the range of values for a range parameter.

Average Daily Utilization

The average daily utilization for a consumption parameter based on which the forecast factor is calculated.

Forecast Factor

The multiplication factor, based on which the maintenance activity is forecasted for a consumption parameter.

Ultimate Life Value

The value identifying the life of the component, if the consumption parameter has been identified as the life parameter.

Rem. Life

The remaining life of the component. The value is calculated as the difference between the value specified in the “Ultimate Life” field and the “Present Value” field.

Formula #

The formula associated with the consumption parameter based on which the parameter value is calculated.

Formula Content

The contents of the formula.

Parameter Description

The textual description of the parameter.

Since Overhaul

The cumulative flying hours or flying cycles of the component since its last overhaul in the shop.

Since Repair

The cumulative flying hours or flying cycles of the component since its last repair in the shop.

Since Inspection

The cumulative flying hours or flying cycles of the component since its last inspection in the shop.

Since Last Shop Visit

The cumulative flying hours or flying cycles of the component since the last shop visit

Since Last Installation

The present value of the parameter since the component was last attached to the aircraft.

The Since Last Installation column will not appear, if the component is not currently attached to any aircraft. This fact is indicated when the A/c On/Off Details displays “Removed”.

Warranty Tracking

Indicates, whether the warranty tracking for the parameter is “Applicable” or “Not Applicable”.

Parameter Update

Indicates, whether parameter updation is “Mandatory” or “Non-Mandatory” each time when the parameter is updated for the component.

Update Mode

Indicates, the mode on which the parameter value has to be updated. The system displays either one of the following:

  • Delta – indicates that the new parameter value is added with the existing parameter value.

  • New – indicates that the parameter value is overwritten by the new parameter value.

Viewing consumption and range parameter information for component – An overview

View Component Record - A summary of the activity

Details such as the parameter description, unit of measurement, parameter type, source from which the parameter is updated, present value of the parameter and the date and time at which the present value is recorded, are displayed. For range parameters the system displays the minimum and the maximum range values. For consumption parameters the system indicates whether the parameter has been chosen as the life parameter or not and also displays the average daily utilization or the forecast factor or the formula ID defined for the consumption parameter. If a formula ID is defined for the consumption parameter, the formula contents are displayed.
