Viewing part number modification history

In this page, you can view the modifications made to the part number of the component. Tell me more.

Select the “View Part Number Modification History” link at the bottom of the “View Component Record” page.

The “View Part Number Modification History” page appears.

The system displays the following fields in the “Component Details” group box:

Component #	The component selected in the main page, for which the part number changes are listed.
Part #	The part to which the component belongs. Note
Mfr. Part #	The manufacturer part number of the component.
Mfr. #	The manufacturer number of the component.
Note
Serial #	The serial number of the component.
Part Description	The textual description of the part.

Note: The part number change details are displayed in the descending order of the updated date, that is, the latest part number will appear first in the multiline.

The system displays the following field in the “Part Modification Details” multiline:

Previous Part #	The previous part number for the part displayed in the “Part #” field. Note
Previous Mfr. Part #	The preceding manufacturer part number of the component.
Previous Mfr. #	The preceding manufacturer number of the component.
Note
Previous Mod Status #	The previous modification status.
Previous Serial #	The previous serial number of the part.
Transaction #	The transaction number which caused the change in the part number.
Transaction Type	The type of the transaction.
Updated Date	The date on which the part number was changed.
Updated By	The name of the person that changed the part number.
Org. Unit #	The organization unit where the part number was changed.

Viewing part number modification history – An overview

A component can undergo modification in the part number. The component ID remains the same but the part numbers can change. An engineering order or any other work order triggers part number change.

The system displays the list of part number changes that had occurred for the part of the component. The details such as the transaction number which caused the change in the part number, the transaction type, the date on which the part number was changed, the person that changed the part number, and the organization unit where the part number was changed are also displayed.
