Recording the consumption and range parameter value history of the component

Unified Glossary

Basics of using a typical web page

Using Online Help

You can record the consumption and range parameter value history for the component that is already used. Tell me more.

The “Initialize Consumption & Range Parameter Values” page appears.

Date & Time Format

The format in which the date and time fields are displayed in this page. This format is displayed from the "User Preferences" business component based on the login user ID. In case the format is not defined, the system displays the date and time format from the “Enterprise Modeling” business component by default.

The system displays the following in the “Component Details” group box:

Component #

The component selected in the main page, for which the parameter value history is being recorded.

Part #

The part to which the selected component belongs.

Serial #

The serial number of the component.

Part Description

The description of the part.

The system displays the following fields in the multiline:

Parameter

The parameter for which the present value must be entered.

UOM

The unit of measurement of the parameter.

Parameter Type

The type of the parameter, which can be “Consumption” or “Range”.

Parameter Source

The source from which the value of the parameter should be updated. The source can be any one of the following:

  • Flight Log - Indicates that the parameter value has to be updated from the flight log.

  • Manual - Indicates that the parameter value has to be updated manually.

  • Calculated - indicates that the parameter value is updated based on the formula associated to the parameter. This formula depicts the mathematical relationship of the parameter with the participating parameters. When one or all the participating parameters are updated, the formula based parameter will be automatically updated.

Unknown?

Use the drop-down list box, to specify whether the “Since New” value is known for the component that is not in “New” condition.

  • Yes – Select this option, if the “Since New” value is not known.

  • No – Select this option, if the “Since New” value is known.

The system displays “No” by default.

If the part is in “New” condition, the system displays only the “No” option.

 Since New

Indicates the period, in the UOM specified for the parameter, for which the part has been in use since the date of manufacture. (Decimal).

Note: If the component is not in “New” condition, then the “Since New” value can be entered, only if the “Unknown?” field is set as “No”.

As Of Date

The date on which the parameter present value was recorded for the component (Date Format). Mandatory.

As Of Time

The time at which the parameter present value was recorded for the component (Time Format).

The system displays the following field in the multiline:

Part Description

The textual description of the part to which the component belongs.

Since Overhaul

The cumulative flying hours or flying cycles of the component since its last overhaul in the shop. (Decimal). The value should be greater than value under ‘Since Repair’.

Since Repair

The cumulative flying hours or flying cycles of the component since its last repair in the shop. (Decimal). The value should be greater than value under ‘Since Inspection’.

Since Inspection

The cumulative flying hours or flying cycles of the component since its last inspection in the shop. (Decimal).

Since Last Shop Visit

The cumulative flying hours or flying cycles of the component since its last visit in the shop. (Decimal).

The system displays the following field in the multiline:

Warranty Tracking

The warranty tracking for the parameter, which could be “Applicable” or “Not Applicable”.

Parameter Update

Indicates if the parameter updation is “Mandatory” or “Non Mandatory”, each time the parameter is updated for the component.

Update Mode

The mode of updation of the parameter value, which could be “Delta” or “New”. the options as “Delta”, “New”.

  • Delta –Indicates that the new parameter value is added with the existing parameter value.

  • New – Indicates that the parameter value is overwritten by the new parameter value.

If the part is initially inducted into the system, if the “Since New” value is not known for the component, the system performs the following during initialization of the parameters:

Recording the consumption and range parameter value history of the component – An overview

Edit Component Record - A summary of the activity

You can record the consumption and range parameter value history for the component that is already used. Recording this detail helps to get the previous parameter value history for the component. Details of parameters that are defined for the selected component, such as the parameter description, unit of measurement, parameter type and the source from which the parameter is updated, are displayed in the multiline. You can specify the present value, as of a particular date and time, for all the parameters listed in the multiline.
