User Defaults – A summary of the activity

This activity allows you to define default OU instance, default role and default language for a user.

Select the “Set User Defaults” link under the “Administration Process” business component.

The “User Defaults” page appears.

- Clicking this icon available near certain fields takes you to the help page of the respective field.

Enter the following details in the header:

Role Name

Use the drop-down list box to select the role name to set as default value for the defined user. The combo is loaded with all roles as defined in the system. The system displays “Select” as default on launch of the page.

Click the “Apply default OU for all Users” pushbutton to apply the default OU for all users.
Enter the following details in the header:

Default OU Instance

Use the drop-down list box to select the default OU instance to set as defaults for the defined user. The combo is loaded with all OU instances as defined in the system. The system displays “Select” as default on launch of the page.

Click the “Apply default Language for all Users” pushbutton to apply the default language for all users.
Enter the following details in the header:

Default_Language

Use the drop-down list box to select the default language to set as defaults for the defined user. The combo is loaded with “English”, “German” and “Arabic”. The system displays “English” as default on launch of the page.

User Name

The unique name identifying the user to set defaults.

User Defaults Set

Use the drop-down list box to select whether to display the user default sets or not. The combo is loaded with “Both”, “Yes” and “No”. When the option selected as,

Both – The system fetches all the user details irrespective of whether the defaults have been mapped or not
Yes – The system fetches only those users for which the defaults exist
No – The system fetches only those users for which the defaults do not exist.

The system displays “No” as default on launch of the page.

To fetch the default user details

Click the “Fetch User Details” pushbutton to fetch the default user details.

The system retrieves the details and displays in the multiline.

Enter the following details in the multiline:

User Name	The unique name identifying the user to whom the default value has to be set.
Default Role	The unique name identifying the default role for the user.
Default OU Instance	The unique name identifying the default OU instance for the user. Help facility available.
Default_Language	Use the drop-down list box to select the default language for the user. The combo is loaded with “English”, “German” and “Arabic”. The system displays “English” as default on launch of the page.
Default Activity	The unique name identifying the default activity for the user.

To save the default user details

Click the “Save the user defaults” pushbutton to save the default user details.
