Basics of using a typical web page

This page allows you to enter the purchase details of the assets for which the initial entries have been made. Tell me more.

The “Update Acquisition Information” page appears.

Finance Book

Use the drop-down list box to select the code identifying the finance book in which you want to update the purchase information of the asset. All the finance books that have been mapped to the login organization unit will be available for selection in the ascending order.

Asset Class Code

Use the drop-down list box to select the code identifying the asset class to which asset belongs. The asset class code must have been defined in the “Create Asset Class” activity of the “Asset Type Definition” business component and must be in an “Active” status.

Asset No.

A unique number identifying the asset (Alphanumeric, 18).

Tag No.

A unique number identifying the tag (Alphanumeric, 20).

Document Type

Use the drop-down list box to select the type of the document based on which the purchase information of the asset is being entered from “Order Based Invoice”, “Direct Invoice”, “Prepaid Invoice” or “Others”. This document type must have been defined in the “Create Quick Code” activity of the “Quick Code Definition” business component and must be in “Active” status. The system displays “Others” by default at the launch of the page.

Document Date

The date of the document through which the purchase was made (Date Format).

Document No.

The number identifying the document through which the purchase was made (Alphanumeric, 18).

Supplier Name

The name of the supplier from whom the asset was purchased (Alphanumeric, 60).

Document Amount

The cost of the asset (Decimal). Mandatory.

Currency

Use the drop-down list box to select the code identifying the currency in which the asset has been purchased. All the currencies that have been mapped to the login organization unit will be available for selection in the ascending order. The system displays base currency of the login organization unit by default at the launch of the page.

Exchange Rate

The exchange rate with respect to the base currency of the login organization unit, in case the currency is different from the base currency (Decimal).

GR Date

The date of the goods receipt note by which the asset was received (Date Format).

Capitalization Amount

The amount for which the asset has been capitalized (Decimal).

The system updates that acquisition information along with the asset number.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Updating acquisition information – An overview

This page will be used once while entering the asset details in the fixed assets module. This page allows you to enter the purchase details for every asset number. In case the quantity of the assets of the same number is more you can also enter the multiple details for an asset number in this page.

You can enter details of the number identifying the document, the date on which the document was raised and the type of the document through which the purchase has been made. The document through which the purchase has been made could be an “Order Based Invoice”, “Direct Invoice” or a “Prepaid Invoice”. You can also enter the amount, for which the asset was purchased, the currency of the amount and the exchange rate in case the currency of the document is different from the base currency of the organization unit. You can also enter the amount for which the depreciation will be calculated for the asset at a later date.
