This activity allows you to activate or inactivate an asset group. An asset group is inactivated if it is no longer in use. You can activate an “Inactive” asset group if it does not have an inactive parent group. You can also inactivate an “Active” asset group if active assets are not mapped to it or if it does not have active child asset groups. The system stores the login ID of the user and the system date along with the modified details..

The “Activate / Inactivate Asset Group” page appears.

Asset Group Code

The code identifying the asset group that you want to activate or inactivate (Alphanumeric, 25). You can enter the code in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all the codes that are similar to the value entered here.

Group Description

A textual description of the asset group (Alphanumeric, 40). You can enter the description in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all the asset codes that have descriptions similar to the value entered here.

Child Group

Check the box to retrieve the corresponding child group details.

Group Status

Use the drop-down list box to select the status of the asset group from “Active” or “Inactive”. The system displays “Active” by default on launch of the page.

The system displays the following in the “Asset Group Details” multiline based on the search criteria entered:

Asset Group Code

The code identifying the asset group.

Asset Group Description

A textual description of the asset group.

Parent Group

The code identifying the parent asset group.

Asset Group Status

The status of the asset group. It could be “Active” or “Inactive”.

 
  • Active – indicates that the asset group is in use.

 
  • Inactive – indicates that the asset group is no longer in use.

Note: At least one row must be marked for selection.

Note: You cannot activate an asset group that has an inactive parent group.

The status of the asset group is updated to “Active”.

The system stores the login ID of the user and the system date along with the modified details.

Note: You cannot inactivate an asset group that has an active child group.

You cannot inactivate an asset group that has active assets mapped to it.

The status of the asset group is updated to “Inactive”.
