Basics of using a typical web page

This page allows you to assign the assets to the depreciation category. You can also modify the category that has been already assigned to the asset. You can carry out the search using the code identifying the finance book, the code identifying the asset class, the depreciation category, status of the assets as to whether it has been assigned to the category, the code identifying the asset, the code identifying the asset tags, the date from which the assets are put into effective use and the code identifying the cost center. The system retrieves the asset information details. The system assigns the depreciation category to the asset.

The “Assign Assets” page appears.

Finance Book

Use the drop-down list box to select the code identifying the finance book in which the asset entries are posted. The system lists all the posting finance book mapped to the login organization unit in the ascending order. The system displays the first finance book by default on launch of the page.

Asset Class Code

Use the drop-down list to select the code identifying the asset class. All the asset class defined in the “Create Asset Class” activity of the “Asset Type Definition” business component. The system displays “All” by default on launch of the page.

Depreciation Category

Use the drop-down list box to select the code identifying the depreciation category. The system lists the depreciation categories defined in the “Create Depreciation Setup” activity of the “Asset Depreciation Setup” business component. The system leaves the field blank if “All” is selected in the asset class.

Status

Use the drop-down list box to select the status of the asset. The system lists “Assigned” and “Unassigned” for selection. The system displays “Unassigned” by default on launch of the page.

Note: You can also modify the assignment already established between the asset and the depreciation category.

Asset No.

The number identifying the asset (Alphanumeric, 18).

The number identifying the asset tag (Alphanumeric, 18).

In-Service Date From

The starting date in the range of in-service dates from which the asset details must be retrieved (Date Format). The system lists all the assets whose in-service date are later than this date. The date entered here must be less than the date entered in the “To” field.

 

If this field is left blank and the “To” field is entered, then the system retrieves the assets starting from the first asset in the database till the assets with in-service date as specified in the “To” field.

To

The ending date in the range of in service dates till which the details must be retrieved (Date Format). The system lists all the assets with in-service date earlier than this date.

 

If this field is left blank and “In-Service Date From” field is entered, then the system retrieves the assets with the same in-service date as specified in the “In-Service Date From” field till the last asset in the database.

Cost Center

The code identifying the cost center in which the asset is physically or logically grouped (Alphanumeric, 5). The cost center must have been defined in the “Create Cost Center/Unit” activity of “Cost Setup” business component.

The system displays the following fields in the “Asset Information” multiline:

Asset No.

The number identifying the asset.

Tag No.

The number identifying the asset tag.

In-Service Date

The date in which the assets are put to effective use.

Depreciation Category

The code identifying the depreciation category (Alphanumeric, 20). The depreciation category must have been defined in the “Create Depreciation Setup” activity of the “Asset Depreciation Setup” business component.

Note: If the asset / tag no. is mapped to the asset class say ‘XYZ’, then the depreciation category must also be defined under the same asset class.

The system updates the depreciation category for the asset / tag number.
