Activating / inactivating depreciation category
This page allows you to activate or inactivate the depreciation category if no rule has been assigned to it.. You can enter the asset class code, based on which the depreciation category details are retrieved. The system displays the details like depreciation category, its description and the status of the category.
The system updates the status of the category to “Active” on activating and “Inactivate” on inactivating. The system also updates the login ID of the user to the last modified by and the system date to the last modified date. The system displays the creation history of the depreciation category.
Select the “Activate/Inactivate Category” link at the bottom of the “Activate/Inactivate Depreciation Rule” page.
The “Activate/Inactivate Depreciation Category” page appears.
Enter the following field:
Asset Class Code |
Use the drop-down list box to select the code identifying the asset class. The system loads all the asset class defined in the “Create Asset Class” activity of the “Asset Type Definition” business component, for selection. The system displays the first asset class by default on launch of the page. |
The system displays the following fields in the “Depreciation Category Details” multiline:
Note: The system retrieves all the depreciation category assigned to the asset class.
Depreciation Category |
The code identifying the depreciation category. |
Depreciation Category Description |
The textual description pertaining to the depreciating category. |
Status |
The status of the depreciating category. |
Check the box in the “Select” column of the multiline to mark the depreciation category.
Click the “Active Category” pushbutton to activate the depreciation category.
Note: Atleast one category must be in “Inactive” status for it to be activated.
The system updates the status of the depreciation category to “Active”.
The system updates the login ID of the user to the last modified by and the system date to the last modified date. The system also displays the creation history of the category.
Click the “Inactivate Category” pushbutton to inactivate the depreciation category.
Note: Atleast one category must be in “Active” status for it to be inactivated.
The category cannot be inactivated, if the “Active” depreciation rule has been assigned to the depreciation category.
The category can be inactivated, only if is not been assigned to any depreciation book.
The system updates the status of the depreciation category to “Inactive”.

The date on which the category was created. |
Last Modified By |
The login ID of the user who last modified the category. |
Last Modified Date |
The date on which the depreciation category was last modified. |
