Activating / Inactivating Depreciation Book
This activity allows you to activate or inactivate the depreciation book. Tell me more.
Select the “Activate / Inactivate Depreciation Books” link under the “Asset Depreciation Setup” business component.
The “Activate / Inactivate Depreciation Books” page appears.
Enter the following field in the group box:
Depreciation Book Code |
Use the drop-down list box to select the code identifying the depreciation book. The system lists the Corporate, Tax and other depreciation books for selection. The system displays the “Corporate” book by default on launch of the page. |
The system displays the following fields:
Description |
The textual description pertaining to the depreciation book. |
Status |
The status of the depreciation book. The statuses could be |

Effective From Date |
The date from which the depreciation book is effective. |
Click the “Get Details” pushbutton to retrieve the assignment details of the book.
The system displays the following fields in the “Assignments” multiline.
Note: The system retrieves the depreciation category and the rule assigned to the book.
Depreciation Category |
The code identifying the depreciation category. |
Depreciation Rule No. |
The number identifying the depreciation rule. |
Click the “Activate Book” pushbutton to activate the depreciation book.
Note: The depreciation book must be in “Inactive” status for it to be activated.
The system updates the status of the book to “Active”.
The system updates the login Id of the user to the last modified by and the system date to the last modified date.
Click the “Inactivate Book” pushbutton to inactivate the depreciation book.
Note: The depreciation book must be in “Active” status for it to be inactivated.
The depreciation book cannot be inactivated if it has any rule assigned to it.
The Corporate and the Tax depreciation book cannot be inactivated.
The system updates the status of the book to “Inactive”.
The system updates the login Id of the user to the last modified by and the system date to the last modified date.
Select the “Attach Notes” link at the bottom of the page to attach notes.
The system displays the following fields:
Created By |
The login ID of the user who created the depreciation book. |
Created Date |
The date on which the depreciation book was created. |
Last Modified By |
The login ID of the user who modified the book last. |
Last Modified Date |
The date on which the book was last modified. |
