This page allows you to specify the serial and lot number information for the part against the work order and task combination. Tell me more.

The “Edit Preferred Serial # / Lot # Information” page appears.

Note: This page can be invoked only if the part selected in the previous page is of part control type “Lot Controlled”, “Serial Controlled” or “Lot & Serial Controlled”.

The system displays the following in the “Work Order Details” group box:

Work Order #

The work order for which the serial and lot number details must be modified.

Work Order Description

The description of the work order.

Zoom facility available.

Task #

The task for which the serial and lot number details must be modified.

Task Description

The description of the task.

Zoom facility available.

Work Center #

The work center in which the work order must be performed.

Work Center Description

The description of the work center.

Zoom facility available.

Warehouse #

The warehouse of the parts specified for the work order.

Warehouse Description

The description of the warehouse.

Zoom facility available.

Part #

Use the drop-down list box to select the part for which the serial and lot number information must be modified. The system lists all the parts that have been specified for the work order-task combination in the “Edit Part Requirements” page.

The system displays the following field on clicking the “Get Details” pushbutton:

Part Description

The description of the part.

Required Quantity

The quantity of parts required for the work order.

Seq #

The sequence in which the serial or lot numbers are specified for the work order (Integer). Ensure that the sequence number is a positive integer and is unique in the multiline.

 

If you leave the sequence number blank, the system automatically assigns a sequence number to each row, in the order in which they are entered in the multiline, on clicking the “Edit Preferred Information” pushbutton. Ensure that you do not leave it blank for any of the serial or lot numbers occurring in between.

Serial #

The serial number of the part (Alphanumeric, 40). Ensure the following:

  • The serial number must be a valid serial number as available in the “Stock Maintenance” business component.

  • Atleast one serial number must be entered, if the part is “Serial Controlled” or “Lot & Serial Controlled”.

  • The serial number must be unique if the part is ”Serial Controlled” or “Lot & Serial Controlled”.

Leave this field blank if the part is “Lot Controlled”.

Lot #

The lot number of the part (Alphanumeric, 18). Ensure the following:

  • The lot number must be a valid lot number as defined in the “Stock Maintenance” business component.

  • Atleast one lot number must be entered, if the part is ”Lot Controlled” or “Lot & Serial Controlled”.

  • The lot number must be unique, if the part is ”Lot Controlled”.

Leave this field blank if the part is “Serial Controlled”.

The system displays the following fields in the multiline:

Component #

The component number of the part.

Available in Warehouse

Indicates whether the part is available in the warehouse or not. The system displays “Yes” if the quantity available is more than zero. Otherwise, the system displays “No”.

Quantity

The quantity of parts required (Decimal). Ensure that the quantity entered is positive. If the part type is “Kit” or “Component”, ensure that the quantity entered is not in fractions. Also ensure that this field is not left blank, if the serial and lot number are entered. If the part is serial number-controlled, ensure that the quantity entered is ‘1’.

Note: The sum of the quantity entered in the multiline must be lesser than or equal to the quantity displayed in the “Required Quantity” field in the “Work Order Details” group box.

Expiry Date

The date of expiry of the part.

Material Status

The material status of the part, which can be one of the following:

§          If the planning type of the part is “Disposition”, the system displays any of the following statuses: “Partially Reserved”, “Reserved”, “Partially Hard Allocated” or “Not Planned”.

§          If the planning type of the part is other than “Disposition”, the system displays “Partially Requested”, “Requested”, “Partially Issued”, “Issued” or “Not Planned”.

Condition

The condition of the part.

Note: Ensure that no part transaction has been recorded for the serial number or lot number combination of the part for the specific work order-task combination.

Editing preferred serial and lot number information for work order – An overview

This page allows you to specify the serial and lot number information for the part against the work order and task combination. You can select the part specified for the work order and enter the details of the serial and lot number information against it. Details like the serial number or lot number of the part and the quantity required can be specified. The system saves the details against the work order and task combination.
