This page enables you to enter the details of the resources required for carrying out the work order as well as for the tasks associated to the work order. Tell me more.

The “Edit Resource Requirements” page appears.

The system displays the following details in the “Work Order Details” group box:

Work Order #

The work order for which you wish to update the resource requirement details.

Work Order Description

The textual description of the work order.

Zoom facility available.

Task #

Use the drop-down list box to select the task for which you need to modify the resource requirements. The system provides the options based on the settings in the “Set Options” activity of the current business component.

 
  • If “Modification of Wo” is set as “Allowed” or “Requires Re-Authorization”, the system lists all the tasks except those which are in the “Cancelled”, “Preclosed”, “Closed” or “Completed” status.

 
  • If “Modification of Wo” is set as “Not Allowed after Scheduling” or “Only New Tasks can be added”, the system lists only those tasks that are in the “Fresh” status.

 

The system retrieves the resources details of the task specified here. Leave this field blank, to retrieve resources details for the entire work order.

Resource Type

Use the drop-down list box to select the resource type for which you need modify the resource requirements. The system provides the options, “Skill”, “Equipments”, “Tools” and “Others”. The system displays “Skill” by default.

The system displays the following field:

Task Description

The textual description of the task.

Zoom facility available.

Currency

The base currency of the login organization unit.

Resource #

The code identifying the resource that is required for carrying out the maintenance task (Alphanumeric, 40). Mandatory. Ensure that the resource code has already been defined for the selected resource type (“Equipment”, “Tools” or “Others”). The resource code should be in “Active” status. You cannot modify the resources that are already associated to the work order or task execution.

The system displays the following fields:

Resource Description

The textual description of the resource.

Time Unit

Use the drop-down list box to select the unit of measurement for the resource time. The system lists the options “Minutes”, “Hours” and  “Days”. The system displays “Hours” by default.

Std. Time

The standard time for the login organization unit.

Note: If the “Estimated Time” is specified in the “Edit Resource Requirements” page of the “Maintenance Task” business component, the system updates the same in the “Std Time” field.

Est. Time

The number of hours, minutes or days for which the resource is required to complete the task (Decimal). Mandatory. Ensure that the number entered is positive.

Est. Nos

The number of resources required for carrying out the maintenance task (Integer). Ensure that the number entered is positive.

Approval Reqd. ?

Use the drop-down list box and set the field to “Yes”, to indicate that the user has to get approval from the concerned authority before utilizing the resource. Select “No”, if approval is not required.

Sign Off?

Use the drop-down list box and set the field to “Yes”, to indicate that the user has to sign after the task has been carried out by the resource. The system provides the options “Yes” and “No” and leaves the field blank by default. This field is applicable only for “Skill” type of resources.

The system displays the following field:

Resource Cost

The cost of the resource.

Entering resource requirements of a work order – An overview

Edit Work Order - A summary of the activity

This page enables you to enter the details of the resources required for carrying out the work order as well as for the tasks associated to the work order. On launching this page, the system lists all the resource details that are specified in the “Create Task” activity of the “Maintenance Task” business component, for the task selected in the previous page.

You can select the task and resource type and add or modify the details. You can enter details such as the resource code, estimated duration and the number of resources needed for the task or work order execution. You can also indicate whether approval and sign off is required or not.

If you do not specify the resource requirement details, then the details that are already defined for the selected task in the “Create Task” activity of the “Maintenance Task” business are stored.
