Modifying deferral limits for a work order task
This page enables you to specify the deferral limits for a work order task. Tell me more.
Select the “Edit Deferral Limits” link in the “Create Deferment Request” or “Edit Deferment Request” page.
The “Edit Deferral Limits” page appears.
The system displays the following field:
Date Format |
The format in which the date fields are displayed in this page. This format is displayed from the "User Preferences" business component based on the login user ID. In case the format is not defined, the system displays the date format from the “Enterprise Modeling” business component by default. |
The system displays the following in the “Deferment Request Details” group box:
Deferment Request # |
The deferment request selected in the previous page. |
Work Order # |
The work order selected in the previous page. |
Enter the following:
Task # |
Use the drop-down list box to select the work order task for which you need to modify the deferral limits. The system lists all the work order tasks for the selected deferment request. |
Click the “Get Details’ pushbutton along side, to retrieve the deferral details for the work order task.
The system displays the following field:
Work Center # |
The work center in which the deferment request was raised. |
The system displays the following fields in the “Compliance Details” group box:
Compliance Date |
The date on which the work order is scheduled to be started. |
Limit Type |
The type of deferment of the work order task, which could be “Time Based”, “Usage Based” or “Time and Usage Based”. |
Note: Ensure the deferral type is not “Indefinite Deferral”.
Enter the following in the “Time Based Deferrals” group box. Entry in these fields is mandatory, if you have set the deferral type as “Time Based” or “Time and Usage Based”.
Deferred By (Days) |
The number of days by which the work order task is deferred (Integer). Ensure this is a positive value. Leave this field blank, if the deferral type is “Usage Based”. |
Alert Value (Days) |
The number of days by which the alert date of the work order task is deferred (Integer). Ensure this is a positive value. Leave this field blank, if the deferral type is “Usage Based”. |
The system displays the following in the “Customer Details” group box:
Customer # |
The number identifying the customer, who owns the aircraft. |
Customer Name |
The name of the customer owning the aircraft. |
Customer Order # |
The number identifying the order placed by the customer. |
Aircraft Release Date |
The date on which the aircraft should be released to the customer, after the completion of the work order. |
Note: The "Customer #" and "Customer Name" fields are applicable only when the aircraft is not self-owned and the customer details are recorded in the system.
Enter the following in the “Usage Based Deferrals” multiline. Entry in these fields is mandatory, if you have set the deferral type as “Usage Based” or “Time and Usage Based”.
Parameter |
The parameter such as flying hours, engine hours etc. (Alphanumeric, 40). Ensure this is a valid parameter of type “Consumption” and status “Active”, as defined in the “Create Parameters” activity of the “Aircraft” business component. Help facility available. |
Note: The parameter should be unique in the multiline. You cannot alter the parameter, which is already associated.
The system displays the following:
UOM |
The unit of measurement of the parameter value. |
Present Value |
The current value of the parameter. |
Enter the following fields:
Deferred By |
The value by which the alert value for parameter is deferred (Decimal). Ensure this is a positive value. |
Alert Value |
The alert value of the parameter (Decimal). Ensure that the value entered in this field is positive and lesser than the value in the “Deferred By” field. |
The system displays the following:

The textual description of the parameter. |
The system displays the following field in the “Next Schedule Details” group box:
Deferred Till Date |
The date till which the work order task is deferred. The system displays the earliest date of the time-based or usage-based schedule. |
Click the “Edit Deferral Limits” pushbutton at the bottom of the page to update the details.
The system updates the details and calculates the date till which the work unit is deferred.
The system calculates the deferral date based on the following formulas:
For time based schedules:
Deferred Till Date = Date of deferment request + Deferred By (Days).
For usage based schedules:
Deferred Till Date = Date of deferment request +((value as on Deferment Req. Date + Deferred Value) / Utilization Factor per day).
Note: The Utilization factor could be the “Average Value” or “Forecast Factor” as defined in the ”Aircraft” business component..
Modifying deferral limits for a work order task – An overview
This page enables you to specify the deferral limits for a work order task. You can specify deferral limits based on time, usage or both. In time-based deferral, you need to enter the number of days by which you want to defer the work order tasks and the alert date. In usage-based deferral, you need to enter the parameter values by which you need to defer the work order task. On updating the details, the system calculates the date till which the work order task is deferred, based on the modified deferral limits.

You can change the deferral limits of the work order task, before processing a deferment request. You can enter the time-based, usage-based or time and usage based deferrals, based on the option set in the “Edit Deferment Request” page.
Enter the time-based deferrals limits, if the “Deferral Type” is “Time Based”.
Enter the parameter-based deferral limits, if the ‘Deferral Type” is “Usage Based”.
Enter time-based as well as the parameter-based deferral limits, if the “Deferral Type” is “Time & Usage Based”.
Click the “Edit Deferral Limits” pushbutton, to update the details.
