Modifying work group composition
This page allows you to modify the details of the selected work group. You can modify the name and the group leader of the work group. You can also modify the work center to which the work group is attached. You can change the status from “Active” to “Inactive” and vice versa. This page also allows you to specify whether the modifications made are effective for existing assignments or for future assignments.
Select the “Edit Work Group” link in the “Select Work Group” page. Alternatively, select the hyperlinked work group number in the multiline of the same page.
The “Edit Work Group” page appears.
The system displays the following:
Work Group # |
The work group selected in the previous page. |
Modify the following fields, if required:
Name |
The name of the work group (Alphanumeric, 77). Mandatory. Zoom facility available. |
Group Category |
Use the drop-down list box to select the category of the work group. The system lists all the “active” quick codes of type “Work Group Category” as defined in the “Create Quick Codes” activity of the current business component. |
Status |
Use the drop-down list box to modify the status of the work group. The system provides the options “Active” and “Inactive”. Set the status as “Inactive” if you wish to disable the work group from any future reference in other activities. |
Effect Changes To |
Use the drop-down list box to specify whether the modifications made is effective for the existing maintenance assignments or only for future assignments. The system provides the options, “Existing Assignments” and “Future Assignments”. The system displays “Existing Assignments’ by default. |
Work Center # |
Use the drop-down list box to select the work center to which the work group is attached. The system lists all the “active” work centers defined in the “Create Work Center” activity of the “Work Center” business component for the login organization unit. The system retrieves all the work groups associated with the selected work center. |
Group Leader |
The code that identifies the leader of the work group (Alphanumeric, 20). Ensure this value is already defined in the “Create Employee Record“ activity of the “Employee Information” business component and is in “active” status. Help facility available. |
Check the following boxes to indicate the “Applicability” of the work group:

Check this field, if the work group is for hangar maintenance activities. |
Modify the following field, if required:
Lead skill # |
Use the drop-down list box to select the number identifying the lead skill of the work group. The system lists all the “Skill” types as created in the “HR Setup” business component. |
Check the following boxes to indicate the “Applicability” of the work group:

Modify the following field, if required:
Lead skill # |
Use the drop-down list box to select the number identifying the lead skill of the work group. The system lists all the “Skill” types as created in the “HR Setup” business component. |
The system displays the following:
Group Leader Name |
The name of the group leader. |
Modify the following in the “Employee Details” multiline, if required:
Employee # |
The code that identifies the employee who is part of the work group (Alphanumeric, 20). Ensure this value is already defined in “Create Employee Record“ activity of the “Employee Information” business component and is in “active” status. Help facility available. |
The system displays the following on clicking the “Edit Work Group” pushbutton:
Employee Name |
The name of the employee. |
Work Center # |
The work center to which the employee is attached. |
Primary Skill # |
The code that identifies the primary skill of the employee. |
Lead skill |
The code that identifies the lead skill of the employee. |
Resource Group |
The resource group to which the employee belongs, such as inspector, mechanic or others. |
Productivity Factor |
The number that indicates the efficiency of the employee on a 0 to 1 scale. |
Service Area |
The area in which the employee can serve. |
Work Group Count |
The total number of employees in the work group. |
Enter the following in the “Work Group Remarks” group box:
Remarks |
Any additional remarks pertaining to the work group (Alphanumeric, 255). Zoom facility available. |
Check the box in the “Select” column of the multiline, to select the employee for deletion.
Click the Delete icon in the toolbar above the multiline, to delete the selected employee from the work group.
Click the “Edit Work Group” pushbutton, to update the details.
The system stores the name of the login user and the current server date as the last modified date of the work group.
If the “Effect Changes To” field is set to “Existing Assignments”, the system updates the modified details of the work group in all the work orders and work order tasks, which are in “Fresh”, “Scheduled” or “Inprogress” status.
The system displays the following in the “Record Statistics” group box:

The employee who has created the work group. |
Last Modified By |
The employee who has modified the work group. |
Created Date |
The date on which the work group was created. |
Last Modified date |
The date on which the work group was last modified. |
To proceed, carry out the following
Select the “View Existing Assignments” link at the bottom of the page to view the existing assignments for the selected work group.
Modify the status of the work group
Specify whether modifications is valid for existing or future assignments
Modify the work center to which the work group belongs
Modify the status of the work group
You can modify the status of the work group.
Set the “Status” field to “Active”, if you wish to activate the work group.
Set the “Status” field to “Inactive”, if you wish to inactivate the work group and disable it from future reference in other activities.
Specify whether modifications is valid for existing or future assignments
You can specify the changes made to the work group are valid for existing assignments of the work group, or only for future assignments.
Set the “Effect Changes To” field to “Existing Assignments”, if you wish to effect the changes for the existing assignments of the work group.
Set the “Effect Changes To” field to “Future Assignments”, if you wish to effect the changes for the future assignments of the work group.
Modify the work center to which the work group belongs
You can change the work center to which the work group is attached.
Set the appropriate option in the “Work Center #” field, to change the work center for the work group.
